REMINDER: Auction ending today (Sunday) at noon EST. Bidding is allowed to continue up to 30min of no activity. Good luck!

--

This past weekend I went out with a couple local comic pals for our annual drink and draw get-together. I like to have something in the works so I'm actually drawing (and not just drinking) and ended up with this power-posed Wonder Woman here. I then watercolored her at home the next day, just got around to scanning her this morning, and here she is next to my tiny, little studio Christmas tree (I love it).

Anyhoo, I know it seems kind of odd to hold a private auction a week before Christmas, but I'm not sure what else to do with her. So I'm putting her up for bid anyways. It seems unlikely I'd be able to have her shipped to someone's home in time for Christmas, but if anyone wanted her for a gift, I can provide a hi-res file of the scan or photo for a temporary gift-giving printout if they want. Other than that, usual auction rules below.

  • Ink & watercolor on 6x8 media paper

  • Place bids in comments or DM me and I'll enter anonymously

  • Auction ends this Sunday (12/22) at 12pm EST BUT you can keep posting after 6pm! I'll take the highest bid after 30 min of inactivity.

  • Starting amount is $50 (+ $10 shipping, $20 international)

Good luck to any interested! I'll do my best to send out a reminder this Saturday. In the meantime, have a WONDERful rest of the week!

are those crayola paints? they look so much like them! haha

Mike Maihack

Close! They're classic Prang sets. Been using them for years. Inexpensive and colorful.

Hey I just got a new watercolor set and am trying to get into using them. Do you have any tips on how to get the look you do for your pieces? Always love how they look

Mike Maihack

Hi Malik! Sorry, I almost missed your comment here. I'm still hoping to get a watercoloring video on here. It's just been difficult to manage it. But my first tip would be to lay down a single light shade of color--sorta figuring out your darks and lights--before really diving in with all colors. It'll keep you from overworking and also keep the piece more consistent. I tend to start with a light purple. Next piece I do, I'll try to snap a pic of that stage. Hope that helps get you started though!
