I had always felt like something was off about the symphonic version. I think what you said about the mixing and it just being a vocal track makes a lot of sense. When compared to something like "The Rumbling" symphonic version by S.I.M. it is night and day. They build off of each other and its not just a background track. It is always great hearing your insight. Sadly, the only version of this song on Spotify is the symphonic version, so I get to listen to that a lot.
