Imagine this episode being the kinda sequel to episode 3 when Ekko Jayce and Heimerdinger first discover the anomaly in the hexgate tower base. We already saw what happened when Jayce returned, for Ekko you’ll just have to wait and see!

Ekko forcing himself to leave Heaven and Jayce escaping Hell is one the impactful parallels in this show. It's full of so many throughout but this one is easy the most in your face of the bunch. I'd also Highly recommend doing a full listen of the song playing during the dancing scene, "Ma Meilleure Ennemie" with the translated lyrics shown. It makes the entire scene so much more impactful.

Also, the guy Jayce kept seeing is the mage who saved him and his mother as a child, and gave him the rune he keeps on his leather bracer!

Yeah in season 1, she had the frostbitten fingers and she spoke up when the council almost banished him. All this is in season 1 episode 2.

Gamesplore

It was in s1 episode 1 or 2 when Jayce and his mom got saved by that guy. The guy has the same clothes and staff. I had to rewatch to remember lol

Oh I read your shit wrong... lol I thought you said he was his mom. I was about to boot you from the patreon for spoiling

The cloaked man watching over Jayce was the same one from the start of episode 2 season 1. He saved a young Jayce with his mother in a snowstorm and gave Jayce the rune he is wearing as his armband.

Xudos

This is imo the best ep of season 2, no contest

Spoiling anything about this show is a federal crime IMO, won’t ever catch me doing that. Enjoy these last two episodes!

If you need a refresher : during episode 3, Jayce Ekko and Heimerdinger go investigate why the hextech is doing weird stuff (corrupting plants near where Ekko lives). And deep under the Hexgate (the tower that allows for fast travel thx to hextech) they see the arcane going crazy and they all disappear. At some point Jayce reappears looking all f'd up with a beard and kills Viktor. The episode you just watched basically shows what happened to him while he was gone. (It explains why he killed Viktor, because he understood his cult would lead to what he saw in the other timeline)

Jayce had to escape Hell, Ekko had to leave Paradise

if you wanted to go back to remember stuff i think right before and during the fight between vi and jinx in episode 3 would be best since thats the last time youve seen ekko and jayce before they got yeeted into another timeline

FlowerOnThePrecipice

Jayce walking through the cavern is the parallel world alternative of Tony walking through the lines of Violet Evergarden Movie Requests

Ekko is my main in league of legends. His whole thing in game is that he can go back to where he was 4 seconds ago. It was really cool to see the show's take on how he got his main power, and I couldn't even tell you how long I waited for an episode like this one.

My favorite episode with my favorite song. Everyone loves the French rap, but Heimerdinger’s spin the wheel just speaks to me on a very deep level. Gives me some John Denver vibes in a very good way. I wish the ending song, ‘A keepsake, had a lyrics version though because it’s a true groove. And I love how last episode you’re left thinking Jayce is a monster for killing Arcane Jesus, but then you start to see that Viktor’s use of hextech will destroy piltover so obviously he’s gotta go, and he already said he wouldn’t stop using it when Jayce first returns to the main timeline. Also as an aside in the lore of League of Legends, Yordles, Heimerdinger’s race, can’t actually die? Kind of? They sort of just pop back up in their homeland when they die. It’s not a very well explored area of the lore overall

I love the theme of parallels and opposites. Season 1 Jayce was the golden boy of piltover, the man of progress, a person with wealth, accolades, and strong healthy body. Season 2 Jayce has been thoroughly broken down and crippled. He had to struggle and climb his way out of that trench through sheer strength of will and perseverance, mirroring Victor's journey of climbing his way up from the Undercity in system with extremely prejudiced classism. Meanwhile season 2 Victor became no longer crippled or ill and transformed into arcane Jesus...the herald and healer zaun.

But, where did my boy Heimerdinger go? 😢 Watching Arcane for the first time here, so if the answer lies in a later episode, I don't know it. Also, his song was wonderful. Found it to be quite soothing.
