Many apologies about my voice... I had to take some time away from work yesterday for being sick but it seems it's gonna be rough in these vids. We push on! 🎵

Some fun facts about the song/episode (idk if some were mentioned before): 1. Togetoge is *a real* band, all the voice actors in the anime are also the band members filling the same roles. The voice actor for Nina is the youngest in terms of age, she is only 17 years old, just like Nina herself. You can see their performance of the anime opening full version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L25Co3hB79o Unfortunately, Subaru's actor and Tomo's actor which are also the drummer and keyboardist in IRL togetoge, went into hiatus at the beginning of July 2024 due to health reasons and haven't returned yet sadly. 2. The bass line Rupa played before the act during sound check (both regular and continued in the distortion ver.) was a replication by ear of the diamond dust song they just heard right before. 3. The song is very symbolic in its lyrics both to what Nina said before the song and to togetoge members in general. At 21:15 in the video you can see two birds flying and then a third birds joins at 21:18, and finally two more at 21:19. This symbolizes how the band start with Nina and Momoka, then Subaru joined, and finally Rupa and Tomo joined. 4. We see in the song see the tragedies and their resolutions of each member such as, Subaru depressed look in-front of her acting in a drama, but then we later see Subaru's grandma attending the concert (as you noticed), and accepting her decision to quit acting. But I'll focus on Nina. In episode 10, the room in their home in Kumamoto that her dad sat, is more like a smoking room so he could smoke inside, we see an ash tray full on cigarettes, and the room is displayed dark and lack of light. In 23:01, we see her dad in the room watch/listening to their concert, and the room is now light up. We also see Nina's shirt hanging openly there (the shirt says "high-school dropout"), as something to be proud of. We also see there's no ash tray in the room, which means that her dad resolved himself to quit smoking after Nina told him at the end of episode 10 before leaving back to Tokyo "Please cut back on the cigarettes". Also note about the "over produced", IDK if it's the best translation in English from Japanese, but you can think about the equivalence to Azalea in "Paripi Koumei" that you already watched. That from a band that "had their own sound" and "uniqueness" they became "mass-produced" and just did and acted in the way that will just sell, even it it meant not playing instrument or wearing "provocative" outfits in the case of Azalea. The criticism to Diamond Dust is something like that in a sense.

Hi, Tony. Now that GBC is coming to an end, where do I put a request for you to put Bang Dream MYGO or Ave Mujica in the next music poll? unfortanely it's not famous, but it's a great anime. Or there's ir no request? thankyou

drumrolltonyreacts

On the last episode I'll ask for everyone's thoughts for the next music anime and then we'll polll it from there

Jet Man

That on-stage version of the opening you posted was pretty cool. That would have been fun to hear as a live experience.

Red Menace

lol, was going to post a book of comment, then you said and basically answered everything at the end of the episode! also, good god man, get some rest, let there be delays, your health is more important than anything, i hope you feel better soon. and finally, god dang, that camera during the gig, getting me feeling not good.

drumrolltonyreacts

Save yourself the book comments. I never read them LOL Anytime someone goes off THAT hard it's a "I'm sorry or thankful that happened to you" meme moment.

Red Menace

Don't know that meme lol. Also generaly most comments unless they are asking a question, or @user are generally just that lol, no shade, no insult, not even need to be read, just a comment. Also book may have been an exaggeration, i was merely going to point out how it seems how your preferred music anime is just, practice, gig, practice, gig, behind the music scenes, sort of like an animated music video. nothing wrong with that, i get it.

1 - it's funny, cause girls band cry and bang dream MYGO made a collab this week in real life

Jc

so the reason why eps like this the band actually looks like they are properly playing the instruments is due to them being detected out in tracks and using mocap.
