PLAYBACK --- OPERATION FLYING DUTCHMAN // POST-OP DEBRIEF

(Female) And just then I thought the op was about to go completely off the rails and that we would somehow have to fight our way out then … Ruby complied with Baram’s demand.

(Female takes a long breath. Tension suddenly diffusing before resuming with a calmer voice.)

(F) Of course the bitch made a big show of it. Fully grinding her crotch on my face one last time before she literally dismounted and threw me onto the ground like a discarded toy with a deep sigh of disappointment.

(Pause.)

(F) Baram stood firm though. I had seen that look before. She looked ready to kick Ruby in the neck if necessary and although I would not want to be in the receiving end of her kicks … Ruby nonchalantly took her sweet time. She walked past Baram with a defiant smirk on her face and waving dismissively as she left the cabin. ‘Your pet has been cleared to enter the VIP area.’ she said, ‘I’ll have you both after the boss is done with you anyway.’

(The sound of fingers running through hair. Chains gently rattle as the female adjusts her seating. The male interviewer scribbles something on his pad.)

(Male) Understood. Your cover was still intact at that point.

(F) Yes. Baram got on her knees and while she helped me fix my bikini back on, she leaned in close and reassured me that everything would be fine. Made me promise to stay close. Said we would watch each other’s back … Said the code phrase would be ‘the harder they fall’, and if any of us was in danger we only had to say it for the other to come to the rescue. She made me feel part of the team despite my slip up.

(Female gently laughs to herself.)

(M) What’s the joke agent?

(Female goes quiet.)

(F) No joke sir. I was just remembering how it felt to have Baram by my side. The way she took my hand into hers as we walked back to the pool where Magnus was waiting. She was the best partner.

(Pause.)

(F) Which is why it hurts so much …
