Aloha Patrons!

Welcome to our monthly vote!  If you're new to Patreon, please see instructions below for voting.  (also, if you're new, join our secret facebook group!  email patronhelp@cynthialin.com with your facebook email address and we'll add you)

How the Song of the Month works

If you're new, here's the TL;DR version of what happens with the Song of the Month:

1. All Patrons vote!  (here!  see the song options below!)

2. I create a Chord Chart ($3+ Patrons) and teach a Live Lesson ($5+ Patrons)

3. I produce a Play-Along video (check out the Fast Car Play-Along, and True Colors Play-Along) and release it on YouTube

4. Upon YouTube release, chord chart is made available to the public via Gumroad, and all Patrons receive access to the recorded hour-long Live Lesson

I've just posted the Come Away with Me Play-Along video which was our April vote winner, so all Patrons can now watch the Come Away with Me + Happy Live Lesson.

Thank you all for your support in creating these higher production Play-Along videos.  Here's a teaser for the Happy Play-Along, which was shot on location and has a more produced sound - excited to share it!  I should be able to release that video in a couple of weeks.

About this month's vote

For this month's choices, I'm including songs from your summer suggestions in last month's vote comments, plus top picks from the past few months that I'm excited about performing and teaching.  If you don't know these songs, please keep an open mind to learning new songs - 'Summertime' was our winner last month, and I was glad to hear that some people who didn't vote for it wound up really enjoying the lesson for it.  I do my best to create a lesson and arrangement that is interesting and challenging for a wide range of levels.  You can always choose Cynthia's choice to give your voting power to me, and I'll pick the song I most want to do. :)

Voting closes Mon 7/9 at 11:59PM Pacific Time. I’ll announce the winner and post the chord chart before the Live Lesson on Thurs 7/19.

Thank you, and happy voting!

xo cynthia.

I feel like lately a lot of songs have been older ones which classics are always great, but it would really be nice to get more recent songs to play. Unfortunately this has become a reason I don't follow this channel as much anymore =( which sucks because I reaaally love your teaching style. I'll always keep supporting you though because I think you have a unique talent for teaching that I don't find with other online tutorials.

Patricia Hurley

Please suggest something - I like the oldies but also like being able to throw in something recent to my repertoire too!

Meg Higginbotham

Yes sorry, I should definitely suggest something. I really love Red Hot Chili Peppers -Cynthia's pick! But if you are feeling overwhelmed with options by them, Under the Bridge would be a great one!

My vote is Cynthia's choice, but could I suggest something that is more instrumentally focused for ones who are beginners or who can't, don't, or want to sing. : ). Completely open to genre, and solo difficulty. Thank you for these opportunities!

Jon F

Smudge

I would love something more instrumentally focused as well! Also JUST LIKE HEAVEN. Thanks!!

Phylicia

I feel like this too, I always suggest Across the Universe because I know it's a song Cynthia already knows, but I'd like something that is newer as well... it's kind of a bummer vote for songs that are among the choices month after month and never have them win :\

Have not been able to vote this time as the voting page did not work or allow me to vote. I love playing. Thank you Cynthia for all your support.
