Download the Jam Packet + Links for Practicing

If you'd like to play along with us, you can download the jam packet by clicking on the orange pdf link at the bottom of this post.  This Jam Packet is available for free download.  If you'd like to support more jams and become a member of my online community, you can click here to join Patreon.  No pressure - just keep sharing the good vibes!

Some songs have play-along video links embedded that you can practice with.  Be sure to check out the super cute video for Lenny's original song Mix It Up and play along.

I've also made this month's lesson for "What a Wonderful World" available to all Patrons a little bit early so you could get some practice time in before the jam. :)  I also taught an Intro to  Reggae Strum lesson in this month's Beginner Live Jam.  The reggae strum is challenging, and you can always play these songs more simply with just a backbeat strum or island strum.

You can also practice with this version of Three Little Birds featuring Ben Ahn, and our class performance of Island Style.

Look forward to jamming with you all!

Thanks for helping us get through this pandemic. It means so much to feel your aloha energy.

That was a very fun jam. I thought it might be useful if I mentioned a strange thing I noticed in the live jam. I haven't gone back to see if the recording has the same glitch. On a couple of songs, it sounded to me like Ukulenny's uke was tuned a bit sharp (in pitch). I retuned my uke to match, but then I was not in tune with Cynthia. I wonder if this is related to the way you guys were switching back and forth where one person "hosts" and then the other. Again, I know you guys are going out of your way to help us through this dang pandemic, and I recall there were a lot of comments in the chat about various sound issues (crackle, low volume...) but no one mentioned this pitch thing. I don't even see how it could happen, but I thought you should know what I was hearing at this end. Thanks again for a great jam!

HI there, just wondering what the strumming pattern is there for Three Little Birds?

Running late with family issues and was able to review your video and jam alone but not. :) Thank you for sharing and keeping me up to beat. Love you guys!! 7.8.20

Have you watched Cynthia's tutorial for it? You can use a variety of strums, but Cynthia teaches it with a backbeat Down DOWN Down DOWN, if I remember correctly.
