Glad the teacher got to listen to this one. When I heard this the first time I wondered why ppl liked it because it just felt so painful to me, knowing what he’s gone thru I didn’t know how he could even rap about it. Like Curt said it feels almost like an intrusion in his thoughts. But the more times I see the lyrics it seems to hit a diff part of me each time. I def see this song being a catharsis for Suga. Letting all the thoughts and feelings out in song they way he knows best. Knowing that he’s said in several interviews that he’s much better and in a better place in life makes me feel good. Also great to know that he doesn’t have to be in a bad place to make good music since he made the Grammy worthy D2 in a better headspace.

This song hits hard. Yoongi struggled with depression, OCD, and social anxiety, he started small on his own, his passion led to conflicts with his parents and he worked hard to achieve his dreams. For him to be able to make a song about it and show his vulnerability, that takes a lot of courage and maturity. Also I think this song can be his way of moving on, since he's feeling better now. I look up to him so much as he's able to overcome his fears and express it through his music. He's very self-aware and self-reflective, in a different way than RM though. This man has mad talent and I respect him so much, he's come a long way.

I kind of wished there were more of you who had stayed to watch this masterpiece. He had a hard time recording this song but it was probably therapeutic to get it out. Transparency is one of the reasons that drew me to BTS.

This track is so emotionally.... like I don't even have the words. It was written and produced by Yoongi, June, and PDogg. Yoongi touches on some of his struggles- his mental struggles. He recalls when his parents brought him to a psychiatrist and that experience. Now- There was an unedited version of this on soundcloud back when he put his mixtape up.. but I believe he or staff took it down and replaced it with the bleeped version, but there are some ARMYs who do still have the unedited version. He said the psychiatrist asked him if he's ever tried to harm himself/kill himself and Yoongi answered with "Once, yes". Manic depression is a rough thing to deal with. On top of this, he talks about his struggles with Social Anxiety Disorder, which is a constant battle for anyone who has this as well. It doesn't just go away, medication only stops the anxiety but not the self deprecating thoughts.(I have social anxiety but have managed to handle it well enough to letting me live fairy normally... as long as I stay out of the clubs lol) People who have Social anxiety will find ways around it- carrying an item that holds meaning- kind of like a security blanket, bringing something with them they can focus on when they have to be in crowds. For Yoongi it's his love of music, performance, and ARMYs that keep him going without much trouble. But we do see things in interviews, and other social things he often takes part in. Every time he seems zoned out- that's him focusing on something. Sometimes, mostly in older interviews in the US, he'd pick at back of a member's shirt. That was him not focusing on the room of people. It's not easy to tell for a lot of people, and everyone usually brings up his depression or OCD first. But they often forget he also has social anxiety disorder. It's one thing that connected me instantly to Yoongi. Not the depression, quite a few of the members have dealt with that, and some still deal with it. But the social anxiety... not many people talk a lot about that. But that's just my opinion. This track always makes me emotional, and I feel for him and I'm glad that, while he still struggles, he's managing it well. Around 2018 he seemed to really find what works for him and he's been a lot happier openly since then. Anyway, thanks lots. And another happy B-day to our Yoongles.

Like i said Suga is super relatable. Depression and social anxiety....that's when i knew i could relate to a kpop group. Before BTS, kpop was just cool beats for me. I can't even imagine how social anxiety is for Yoongi at the top rn. I can barely manage it in my normal life.

This song 😞😭 never fails it’s just raw emotion . It holds such a special place in my heart. It’s not one I can hear all the time because of heavy and painful it feels. I admire Yoongi so much and really wish for him to be happy and healthy.

Yoongi just open his heart in this song....that's not easy for someone like him but he knows that ARMY have his back and also what a better way to pour everything that through his greatest love: MUSIC....I just got chills and feel the lump in my throat each time I heard to "The Last" this song just summarize all his demons but at the same time his triumphs over those demons...he is not totally fine but he is a fighter and he'll be...I know, thanks for the reaction!

You know it takes a lot of courage for someone to open up like that about their issues and emotions. It's why I admire Suga so much because I don't think I could ever be able to do that. He's a beautiful person inside and out. All the members are. And you guys are too. Great reaction and thank you for choosing such a profound and meaningful song. 💜🥰💜
