You happen to have brought up a topic I was thinking about yesterday. Is Raphael the same as Great Sage or not? The indications seem to go both ways on this. From the standpoint of Skill, they are definitely different Skills. Even if two Skills have exactly the same name, if one is a Unique and the other is Ultimate, they are different Skills. As a analogy, think of this world's AI. It's possible to replace an AI with a better AI, but since neither one has a real ego, it's irrelevant to talk about whether they're the same entity, because they aren't really entities in the first place (using entity to mean a variety of things). Even if the interface is the same. But in the case of Great Sage/Raphael, when Great Sage showed a sort of self-awareness, something was born that went beyond the function and structure of a Skill, that remains a part of both Skills. It's not a full-fledged being, but I believe there's continuity there. Furthermore, in many ways, a Skill is really a framework. What functions it contains can vary, and it can sometimes contribute little more than a name. In the Slime universe, among Skills, especially Ultimate Skills, there are Skills that people used to have, but for various reasons no one currently has them. Words of the World would know of them, though, and there is historical knowledge as well. It's possible for someone to acquire them again. These Skills would retain certain characteristics from their name and framework, but it might contain many other functions as well when a new person acquires the Skill. A person's desires (usually) determine the Skill they get, and then they might vary in how it functions. That said, both the person and their Skill mesh on a very basic (soul) level; it is an expression of a person's identity.

By the end of the episode, you probably saw that Edmaris abdicated his throne to Edward. You had wondered, why not Youm It may seem more convoluted that necessary to go this indirect route. The main reason is because the nobles wouldn't have accepted Youm at this point. It would seem like some guy, admittedly somewhat well-known in Falmuth, had illegitimately been given the throne, and people might have been suspicious, and even worse, plotted against him. They had to go this route to make Youm seem like the organic choice with the support of the people. ......... Stellar gold coins are minted at the rate of 1 per month by Dwargon. They are marked with serial numbers. Edmaris gave over his coins without much hesitancy because he figured the new regime (that of his brother) would just end up confiscating it anyway. ....... The refugees were those displaced in the Animal Kingdom by the war, Milim's destruction of the capital, and the ones Rimuru teleported out of harm's way. The ones referred to as Majin are basically POW's, that were part of Clayman's army. Adalmann's core followers were the ones who died with him, that supported him, and were, I believe, former knights from the church. Also, the Death Dragon has come along. ....... The food that Milim's worshippers, the Dragon Faithful, have been offering her is not only just raw, it is not seasoned, dressed, or otherwise prepared in any way whatsoever. It's plain raw broccoli, as an example. But actually Milim didn't want to hurt them by telling them that maybe she'd prefer something else. Middray, particularly, stubbornly sees any alterations to nature's bounty to be disrespectful. That's why food from Tempest is a huge motivator for Milim. ....... Geld is so used to work going smoothly with other High Orcs, that he's frustrated that he can't get the Majin, who are prisoners btw, to work as willingly and effectively as he's used to. When they talked about wanting to do it himself, they meant, just get more High Orcs. Rimuru told him perfection wasn't necessary, and try again. It's necessary to be patient and develop relationships with his workers (as he was currently doing with Geld himself). ...... A couple of noteworthy scenes exist in this episode that shouldn't be forgotten. One is the discussion about the tengu. ......... With Rimuru, it's commercial and diplomatic dominance not imperialistic or military domination.

You make a great point! I guess it's like going from ChatGPT 3.5 to 4.0 haha. The way I see it, it's still ChatGPT. But yeah you're right that as its AI it makes things complicated. Also makes sense to look at it as "someone" new entirely
