Pin-up winner is... + good news + bad news! (Patreon)

Darkness from Konosuba! Hurrah! Now to do some research on who this is and what exactly to do with her! It'll be fun to do the research, though. Gotta broaden my horizons somehow. :D

Onto some announcements. *Puts on shirt and tie* Ahem.

So, halfway through July, I will be quitting my job. This means that I will be making animations full-time. Hooray! For those who are wondering "but you didn't hit that goal yet...", you're totally right. However, due to some circumstances at work, general annoyance at not being able to put more time into the animations, and some other factors, I've decided to just go for broke (hopefully not literally) and get outta there. 

Currently, what I earn through Patreon just about covers my basic bills (having a mortgage is SO much better than renting XD), and I feel that, with the extra time I'll have from not going to a day job, I can REALLY pack out those Patreon Deluxes with really good stuff. Accidental Surrogate 2 is a good example of how much I'd prefer to put into a Deluxe, and I want to try to match it, if not surpass it, with each Deluxe. I want you to think "Yeah, I'm glad I pledged!" whenever you see a Deluxe file pop up. Good deluxe options will hopefully lead to more pledges, etcetera. Business stuff. 

Also, can I just say that the support I've received in just a few months is insane? I've struggled to comprehend it, but it's thanks to you fellows, I will be handing in my notice this Friday with confidence that I have something else to support me. Wow. This is actually real. Dang... (If you were thinking of deleting your pledge this month, don't feel guilty about what I've just said ^^ Look after yourselves first, fam!) 

Which leads me onto slightly bad news: for July, this Patreon will be going on hiatus. "What?" you're saying. "But, your job..." Yeah, I'm quitting my job during my hiatus, so I should be doing animations, right? Unfortunately, due to some things going on in July (nothing horrendous, I promise), I will be unable to make much for the last two weeks of the month, and I don't feel right about you dudes being charged for only two weeks of content, if I am able to do anything for the first two weeks. Therefore, a hiatus it is. :/

For those who are unaware of how a hiatus works on Patreon—you do not need to delete or change your pledge in anyway, as once I click the hiatus button, you will not be charged on the 1st July. You will remain a patron, with access to all old posts, but no payment will be taken from you. If you're still not sure what this means, leave a comment below! 

So what will I be doing in July, then? I might still spend what time I have free to do other bits of work, like recording videos of my older animations, or adding extra features to older Patreon Deluxes to make them better value for money (I'm open for suggestions ;) ), along with tidying up my files and getting ready for August, when I return to work on this shit full-time. Oh, and feel free to hit up that community post tab if you wanna post ideas or simply ask questions about animations during the hiatus. I'll still be here, ready to respond if need be! 

As for patron content (pin-ups / series), those will resume at their normal pace in August. Whatever cliffhanger we leave Janet on in June will only be resolved in August. Welp! >_< Feel free to discuss those during July, so we can return all ready to go. 

So yeah, this post is both "thanks for everything!" and "sorry about this!". Funny how life turns out sometimes. Again, any questions about anything I've just typed out (fucking hell, I type a lot...), comment below. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some research to do...

Hehehe doing research on darkness ooo just you wait till you see why she so hilarious and we adore her XD. But also congratulations on doing a new chapter in your life glad that us degenerates are able to give you the motivation to improve and expand your horizons. Maybe as an improvement for the far future now that you have time perhaps adding commissions to workload, not anything like animations since of course they take time maybe just a single sketch or something like that idk im just snowballing here.

If I can, I totally will. And yep, you're still no. 1 on the list. I haven't forgotten! ;D The no. 1 degenerate... what a title. :) Animated pin-ups could be a commission thing, but the details would have to be worked out. I'm still considering a "sketch tier" too, so never count it out, especially if I have more time available to me. :) I have a system I want to try out for this "sketch tier", which should work out nicely for everyone involved, so prepare yourself for August. *thumbs up*

Honestly, you're already putting out so much content that I assumed this was your full-time job. So, I almost had a heart attack when you said you were "quitting you job". THANK THE GODS I was wrong. There really isn't another artist I've experienced that's as engaging and innovative as you, Dim. It's awesome that you're reaching self-sustenance and I can't wait for the future.

Hehe, glad you've enjoyed it! I'm always trying to get better, not just for patrons / DA but to satisfy myself. That other people are following along is something I'm very thankful for. :D That said, looking back at the old stuff is hard... but you gotta start somewhere. ^^

As for engaging, I've not had an audience for my work before, so it's nice to talk about it for once. It's my way of saying "thanks for taking the time to comment". :&gt; I'm not sure how I'm innovating, but I just try to make stuff that I find interesting. If other people think it's interesting, that's pretty neat. I'm satisfied and so are other people, so it's win win! The future should be interesting, too.
