to what ya'll were saying at the end, not saying it's right at all, but sometimes when I get heated or focus on being an asian-(american), talking about women's rights as a woman, fed up with the US, I can say "you guys" when talking to people that have different views than me. Something I think I've worked on(!), but I think it developed from society's impression of categorizing people all the time as well. So, for the writing, I think it could maybe make sense that even if he's from Clover Kingdom, he'd refer to them as different. Esp if he has a god complex! He is the villain

Quick refresher. You have magic before receiving your grimoire. The grimoire "enhances" it so to say. And indeed, everyone is basically born with magic. Some have vast amounts, others just got enough to help them in life, like doing dishes or hanging up clothes :p but everyone has atleast a few drops of magic.

It has always been a widely accepted joke/theory in the Black Clover community that Yami is a retired shounen anime protagonist that got isekaid in the Clover Kingdom lmao. It’s because he’s too cool, funny, and strong, plus that backstory too lol.

Really love the introduction of "ki". It's a very common device used in anime/manga but I like the way Tabata chose to implement it in Black Clover. It allows for a broad but specific way for Yami, and now Asta, to fight enemies more effectively.

Also their grimoire doesn’t give them their magic. They were all born with their own type of magic, which they can use before they even get their grimoire. They just can’t use powerful spells without access to their grimoire in which the spell is inscribed. Asta is the exception to this.

One thing I wanted to say is whenever you're theorizing just remember, never use the exception to the rule as a basis for explanation. What I mean by that is Asta is the exception in this world. Someone born without magic, so he shouldn't be used in the reasoning for other people or events, because he is the lone exception to the world where everyone is born with magic, if that makes sense 😆 Love seeing you guys theory craft though!
