Pine Barrens up next. Big one. Regularly ranks in the top five or ten television episodes in history when people make lists of these things. Not just for The Sopranos, but in all of TV. For me, it’s certainly the best episode of the show.

When I first watched, I thought, WTF they got kids visiting Santa at a strip club? I kept forgetting the guys hung out in back of Satriale's Pork Store, and also in back of the Bada Bing. :)

That pier is "The Jersey Shore"...in Monmouth County 55 miles south of NYC. So you basically cross from Manhattan into NJ and then go due South and hug the Atlantic Coast. It's where Bruce Springsteen is from and about half way between NYC and Atlantic City, it's the FAR end of a Bedroom Community for people working downtown near Wall St. You need to drive up and then take a Ferry to southern Manhattan or par=k and take a commuter train or bus into Midtown Manhattan. It has a MASSIVELY long Boardwalk and mainly populated by Middle Class people as opposed to the ultra-rich who go out to the Hamptons on the Southern Fork of the Eastern tip of Long Island. To Sum it upon the TV reality show "The Jersey Shore" with all the "White Trash" stars is basically filmed in that area- so it is basically T-shirt clad muscled up guys and women with big hair and Spandex....essentially Christopher and Adrianna would fit in perfectly ....My former employer had an office by Wall St where I worked and one in "Ocean, NJ" about 5 miles from this Boardwalk and we were all transferred down to work there just before a merger. I took an apartment down there and then quit and moved back to the city after about a year. As a NYC guy I was dating my wife of now 27 years so commuting back and forth to see her and when we got engaged we just moved into a bigger apartment in Manhattan before ironically moving out to near the Hamptons. In the winter there is NOTHING to do in this part of NJ since the beach is shut down with air temperatures in the 20s and water temperatures in the 50s. It is a SEA of people in the Spring through Fall, especially on weekends...

The next three episodes will be an excellent run to finish out the season, plus setting up a huge storyline for one the characters. To go back to HBO series opening title sequences, the first memorable one for me was Tales from the Crypt. That first person point of view one shot was great.
