I think this should've been the S1 finale, as the actual finale is very mediocre and this introduces us to police chief Maggie Sawyer, officer Dan Turpin, and most importantly Darkseid: 'He is known throughout the galaxy as the most terrifying and evil person there is. He's conquered hundreds of planets, and slaughtered billions of people. Stop it! Stop getting excited!' Superman contains numerous deliberate contrasts with the Batman series, knowing BTAS does things that it can't compete with so it does things differently, such as the immigration analogues. That said, Turpin reminds me of a nicer version of Bullock. I will always prefer BTAS, but they are two sides of the same coin, and STAS did much more in establishing a lot of the concepts used in Justice League.
