The Inedible Mattman!

Season 4 feels like the culmination of the entire NuWho run. Starting with that first Eccleston episode all the way through this season, you can feel how everything has been building. I love this episode because it really does show you how important the events of the show are to the world they live in! Oh, and in case no one else has mentioned it yet ... the Soothsayer is played by the same actress who plays Chan-Tho in season 3's "Utopia" :)

First time doing a full length watch along as ive finally got myself up to date, looking forward to the next few episodes as they're incredible P.s. a rota is like a timetable/schedule which im sure you can make sense of with the bathroom comment now :)

It seems so obvious that it’s the same actor now I’ve had it pointed out, tho.

The Inedible Mattman!

Doctor Who has a history of reusing actors for different characters. Even Wilfred Mott, played by the I credible Bernard Cribbins. Cribbins played a soldier in an old Troughton episode, back when it was still in black and white! And of course legendarily sixth doctor Colin Baker played a guard on Gallifrey in an old Peter Davidson story years before he was cast as the Doctor.

Oh it's all kicking off now isn't it. Crazy episode, honestly this season has such a high hit rate.

Nothing wrong with Leeds!

That episode is downright traumatizing. It is nice that we have come to a point in doctor who where we understand exactly how weird time can be (parallel universes, alternate timelines, bootstrap paradoxes, etc.) so that the show can pull off a lone episode like this. Yes, it was confusing and mysterious for most of the episode (as intended), but the show trusted us to get it in the end without too much x+y=z mechanics explaining. I feel like Blink was a marker point for time hijinks. The show will only continue to do more weird, winding, and wtf time stories like this one as the show goes on. Side note, idk if you recognized but they teased the "something on your back" in the Pompeii episode. It was a juicy cliffhanger- things are about to pop off!

ya, a "rota" is a rotation. I get the bathroom in the morning, you get it in the afternoon, mum gets it in the evening, etc.

Great reaction! "Labour Camps" gets me every time, felt relevant in 2008 and even moreso now. S4 hits so good. Lots more good to come.
