[Concept] Age of Reclamation (Patreon)

He awakens in a warehouse, surrounded by old machines. He doesn't remember how he got there, where he is, or even his own name. Retrograde amnesia, he knows, although he doesn't know how. 

And in his head is knowledge, impossible knowledge. Images of towering spires of cool gray metal, starships that rip holes through the fabric of space-time, suits of sleek plates and gleaming lights, weapons that burn and disintegrate. And a word. Reclamation. A name. Didact.

What might, but for a nail, have been my first ever Worm fanfic. 

So, the idea for this originated from what seems to be a discontinued fanfic, Administrative Assistant, but after a while, it seemed like there were too many hurdles and too much metagaming to make it truly interesting. I scrapped most of it, but kept the idea of "Tinker protagonist with Halo's Forerunner tech."

It's actually a stealth CYOA. Like, legitimately, I took a few ideas from a Worm CYOA in terms of boons and penalties, but you'll only notice them if you look really close at some of the things that happen throughout the story. The amnesia just makes some of them easier to notice than others.

One of the things I hadn't decided for the story was whether or not Halo was canon to the universe itself, or if the protagonist just had out of universe knowledge magically, a la a proper CYOA. It could certainly make things interesting if it was the former, although the latter is easier.

As for Taylor, she'd take a bit of a backseat. Deuteragonist rather than protagonist. Still important, but not the viewpoint character.

Any thoughts or opinions? I admit, this idea has been sitting around for almost three years, now, I think. MoZ and Essence were just bigger concerns, so I haven't touched it in quite a while.
