And here we go, the cliffhanger on this kills me

Vengerin

This cliffhanger pains like shit. Even when I saw the campaing first, here I cried like a bitch. I cried again with the reaction. It's such a powerful scene!

And the rollercoaster of emotions for season 2 begins! So many feels. 😆😆😆 I can’t begin to say how excited I am for this season to continue on.

Before I'd watched Vox Machina (and never followed Critical Role), I was in a one-shot campaign for Halloween. We were told to come up with a spooky character to play. Knowing everyone was gonna have fun with this but that none of them wanted to be a healer, I made my character a Death's Domain Cleric. Part of building a Cleric is choosing the right deity to follow for your play style and character's personal philosophies. Of all the Gods of Death, I chose The Raven Queen (The Matron of Ravens). She stood out to me as being most in line with my character's personality. My Cleric, William Door III (Bill) is still talked about at our table and has made cameos in other campaigns. Fun character to play as.

The Vestiges of Divergence were explained by the sphynx in the last episode. They're weapons that were created to kill gods, created during the Calamity (war between the gods). To recap: the Vestige Osysa sent them to fetch in the temple is the Deathwalker's Ward, which was owned by Purvan Suul, the previous champion of the Matron of Ravens (goddess of death), and is what was in the coffin/tomb Vex opened. 27:06 Not sure if it was a slip, but Trinket is a he. Liam O'Brien (Vax's VA) absolutely killed it at the end there when Vax was crying. Also, Vex's death (whether real or a fakeout) was absolutely wild to watch. The framing of it, the music, seeing the glow in her eyes fade, and Vax's crying. Just... perfectly done, and very different to the other times. If it is a fakeout, it's a damn good one, and way more effective and believable compared to the other ones. If it's a real death, goddamn it was done well, as well as showing how sudden and unexpected it can be IRL or in a game of D&D (where player character's DON'T usually have plot armor and can literally die at any time).

The characters can really die in dnd. They don't have plot armor. Vex rolled a natural 1 and then had lower HP than damage of the spell. And the nature of the spell means she was instantly killed.

"I'm surprised I'm actually crying right now." Liam O'Brien strikes again. lol I didn't shed a tear when it happened in the campaign, but Liam's performance here absolutely wrecks me every time. I'm still ticked he was snubbed by the Emmys.

I haven't watched the campaign that the show was based on, but Dnd characters can die. it's not like a regular show where characters have plot armor and I saw a comment here saying Vex rolled a 1 which means a critical fail on taking damage which explains why she died. I had a bad feeling when they kept showing flashbacks of the twins and vax saying "Don't go too far away from me" and I was so right for sensing that something bad was going to happen.
