Hi 👋 Ari & Denise ... Hope You Both are Doing well... What can I say .. BUT .. Being Honest, I, Really don't like Musicals at all .. It has a lot of Hype & Praise Behind it., so .. can't Turn it Down. Thankyou Both for another Reaction .. I, Look forward towards Your Next., Best Regards, Cheers 🍻 & Friendship 🧡 Love to You, Both.. HUGs., 🫂 • The ONLY Musical 🎼 I, Really Loved was the "HAIRSPRAY" (2007) Movie

RUNNINGGGGGGG HOME TO WATCH THIS IMMEDIATELY

Scarlett08

Heya 👋 I’m so glad you guys liked this movie being a theatre kid and seeing this in the Westend I was soo amazed by this movie it’s 100% done the stage version justice and then some in my opinion. If you guys ever get the chance to see on stage I’d definitely recommend seeing it 😁

Brian Albright

Would love to see you two react to Hamilton. It’s long but worth every second.

Melissa Creel

If you are interested in doing more musicals do Phantom of the Opera. They have a 25th anniversary show they recorded and released on blu ray. Not sure about streaming but it's amazing. There is a movie of it with Gerard Butler as the Phantom, which is fine. And I love Gerard Butler but he just doesn't have the opera style range that the stage Phantoms have. But it's one of my favorite musicals.

I cannot understand how so many people watching this film just miss so much of the obvious. You all get so upset at Glinda for not going with Elphie but she understands what Elphie doesn’t: she has no magic right now and would be dead weight. If Elphie stayed, they could have dismantled the system so much easier, between Elphie’s magic and Glinda’s ability to win people over. She just knows that there’s no way Elphie will stay and work within a system that never helped her, that always treated her horribly. But Elphie going off on her own is exactly what Glinda says: “you’ve hurt your cause forever.” The same thing with Glinda at the end. Yes, she wanted Madam Morrible to accept her, but not at the expense of her friend. She and Elphie truly love each other. There are a few deleted scenes that add to the clarity of that for those unfamiliar with the story and I wish they’d been kept in. But Glinda, while totally superficial at the start of the film, grew when the two became friends and she is not evil the way most people are depicting her.

Happy New Year! You are awsome!

Just watched the YouTube edit and immediately joined here so I can see the entirety of y’all’s reactions; love when someone goes into Wicked blindly and is moved so deeply.

João Ferreira

I knew nothing about Wicked before the movie and i cried during the dance scene at the theater. Now i watched with you again and i just cried throught the whole last part like you ahah. Such a great movie and such great performances

Blaine Davis

I’m confused, where is the audio? And why did y’all shrink it? I subscribed to see the uncut version of y’all’s reaction 😭😭

Angie Woodson

And that's what you got. They say expressly on the sign-up page that full reactions are in watch-along format with *your own* copy. They can't display a full movie or they'd be in violation of copyright law.

Angie Woodson

About The flowers you loved: the crew hand planted millions of actual tulip bulbs. Also, it sounds like a live performance because they were singing live

I do enjoy musicals and this is a really good one. The songs overall are really good (not a huge fan of the first one, but the rest are pretty darn good) and the story is excellent. But all of this was sort of known quantities from the original show. What makes this movie stand out for me with this movie is the performances and the sets. I saw this in the movie theatre and we were both genuinely impressed. First of all the performances from pretty much everyone is excellent. Personally, if I had to pick an MVP, Ariana Grande takes the cake for me. She nails the character 100% all the way through (she is indeed.......blonde) and both her comedic timing and emotional timing is fantastic. That she could sing is a given, but her music theatre roots are really shining through and I am very impressed. Cynthia Erivo is equally fantastic. She could have gone through this entire film without a line and we would know exactly how the character feels all the way, it is written all over her face. Every emotion she portrays is so on par with what a real person fould feel in that situation. Both of them floor me completely, which I wasn't expecting at all, and it was wonderful. Of course we can't forget our villains, both Goldblum and Yeoh nails their roles as well. Also I feel Peter Dinklage should get an honourable mention as Dr Dillamond. It's hard to convey emotions properly as a CGI-goat, but I absolutely believe it. Secondly I can't not mention the sets for this. There is a bunch of CGI of course, this is expected, but (at least to me) way more seem to be practical than you would think beforehand. I have a hard time discerning where the blending between CGI and practical happens in this movie, which is an excellent sign that there is way more practical then CGI. It looks amazing! Also, the dancers were amazing and the choreography for scenes that grand is not easily accomplished. Very impressive! If you would like to check out some more musical films, here are a few recommendations: Across the Universe (2007) Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) Little Shop of Horrors (1986) Grease (1978) A Star Is Born (2018)

If you love musicals then you gotta watch La La Land! Exceptional! Btw, Part 2 is coming November 2025, Media Knights!!

BlueJean452

I love musicals. If you guys decide you want to check out some more you should watch The Greatest Showman with Hugh Jackman. It is excellent and I think you would loving seeing Hugh in a different type of role.

Alberto Pantoja

I joined your Patreon to watch this. I'm sure I will discover other great things. I've been a subscriber for a long time, and this is the first time I join a Patreon page. =)

The sets are actually mostly real practical sets, not CGI! I think I read they planted like thousands of flowers for those wide shots. It's enhanced by CGI of course, things like the monkeys and waterfalls, but most sets are real, which is super cool! If yall are interested in the making of the original wizard of oz movie, Kaz Rowe on youtube had an excellent video talking about it! It was an insane set lol seriously it's very worth learning about. It's called "A Deep Dive into the Horror-filled Production of The Wizard of Oz (1939)". She also has a newer video on the queer history of Oz and the series! Both great videos.

Hannah Saadallah

I also have to say, y’all are the first reactors I’ve seen to acknowledge the wizard’s plaque at the school was covering up the animal portraits in the beginning! It’s super important! And I agree with y’all about the costumes…I want my closet filled with Elphaba, madame Morrible, and galinda’s wardrobes!

PDC717

They sang live on set, in particular Ariana and Cynthia. A big chunk of the sets that were not wide angle shots were practical as well, and even portions of the wide angle shots were built practical.

Hi Robert! As always, so fantastic to hear from you! We are so happy you're giving this one a shot, we felt it was sooo worth it! Alsoo, omg you just gave me (Denise) an idea with Hairspray, because I LOVE that musical and now maybe we can plot to show that to Ari muahahaaa

TheMediaKnights

Happy New Year Matthias, thank you so so much for your kindness and support. It truly means the world to us!!

TheMediaKnights

Omg that is so kind of you, we're so glad to have you with us!! We hope that you enjoy this crazy journey but in full length, because holy cow, we were definitely not prepared for how amazing this was!!

TheMediaKnights

Your comment definitely makes a lot of sense, and it's so understandable to get frustrated when a character feels misunderstood! You make a solid point when you mention that they may have accomplished significantly more if Elphie had stayed, but that's just not where she is at in her journey. We need both in order to fight the good fight. A rebellion needs the fighters, like Elphie, but also the 'politicians' like Glinda. Glinda knows how to play the game and she understands the importance of popularity. This may be a personal bias of mine (Denise), but I felt Elphie's motivations to my core. I too couldn't just sit and pretend. Elphie has been bullied, rejected and used as a punching bag her entire life - she deserves her freedom and that also requires holding those that lied to her accountable. Her integrity is everything to her - she first thing she says to Glinda is how she feels that she would grovel into submission to further her own ambition. She does have a point, because if we're being honest here - both of these ladies do crave approval and acceptance. They just go about it in two very different ways, and I think those two different ways are both abundantly necessary. We need the spark (Elphie) to start a revolution and change, but to make it last we need people like Glinda. And lastly, yes, if Elphie had stayed they could have made a change. But if Glinda had come with her, she could have helped Elphie rally support using her popularity and wit when it comes to 'public relations', for lack of a better term. Hopefully this kinda explains it!!

TheMediaKnights

Omg you got to see this in the West End?!! That must have been glorious! So glad that this made your inner theatre kid happy! Mine (Denise) certainly was jumping up and down in joy, kicking her feet giggling haha. Whenever we can, we definitely will check out the stage version!

TheMediaKnights

That is so so impressive that they sang live on set!! The effort in general poured into this was inspiring and utterly stunning!

TheMediaKnights

RIGHT!! We were stunned by that little reveal, because it just goes to show how much animals are being pushed aside and erased from history, which is devastating! Also yesss, I (Denise) NEED Elphie's outfit gahhh!

TheMediaKnights

Omg yesss, I (Denise) have been dying to watch that one, I know two of their songs (Never Enough, and From Now On) so I can't wait!! Adding that to our list!

TheMediaKnights

Absolutely, adding that to our list!! Thank you so much for the support, and yesss, just a few more months then we get Part 2!!!

TheMediaKnights

It sucks that we can't show the full thing, but as Angie mentioned, it would be in violation of Copyright law and we'd like to not get in trouble ahah

TheMediaKnights

Ahhh that dance scene was so so beautiful!! So glad we weren't the only ones that basically cried throughout the entire ending ahah, this was stunning and we're so glad you enjoyed the movie as well! Thank you so much for your support!

PDC717

I also wanted to mention, there is plenty of behind-the-scenes footage. Cynthia Erivo WAS on wires flying through the air while she was singing. You guys should watch it.

China Andronicus

Sorry, I’m sure I sounded super rude and I wasn’t trying to be. It’s just been constant during this entire process and as a twenty year nerd for the show, I get frustrated. Ariana stated herself that the whole reason Glinda doesn’t even ask is because she knows Elphie couldn’t, after years of abuse by the system. I can understand the concept of Glinda using her charisma to win people to their cause, but not any way it could work. The amount of people they would have to amass to actually stand against the Wizard and his supporters, and the time it would take to do it? They’d be wanted outlaws, with people on a lookout for them, so it would be difficult to sneak around, let alone speak to a whole group at once. As a fellow victim of bullying, I fully understand Elphaba’s feelings and don’t blame her for going. There are just many layers to each character and it’s been frustrating watching so many pigeonhole them. Again, I apologize for coming off snappy.

Raven Dark

I'm so glad you guys were so into this movie. Every song in it is incredible. After seeing how much you guys loved this musical, I have to highly recommend you react to Encanto. It's animated unlike this movie, so it might seem weird I'm recommending it here, but that movie is another one where every song is fantastic. Other than this one, Encanto is the only other musical I've watched in a long time where I love every song as much. I think you guys would really love it.
