The build up in the beginning is honestly important, it may not seem like it now but it will pay off later. I’m glad you guys are starting to get more invested & catch on to things. I know this is way too early but whenever you reach S3 ya'll should def watch the intro it only adds to the emotional impact of some scenes and it is spoiler free! P.S. this also applies to all of the intros in hq but since season 3 is short it doesn't add too much watch time.

Oh my these reactions are painful to watch, and by that I mean if there's such a thing as secondhand pain I'm starting to feel it every time you hit each other. Are the frequency and strength of the slaps an indication of how much you enjoy the show? Because if yes, you'd better all wear thick sweatpants during actual games. The thicker the better. Anw, there are 3 'random' players, that you've already seen and they even had lines but never mind, and they are second years like Tanaka and Nishinoya. Ennoshita (#6) and Kinoshita (#7) who are wing spikers and Narita (#8) who's a middle blocker. Ennoshita was the one playing on the yellow team, Kinoshita was the ref and Narita was just standing there. I don't think there's a formal or informal introduction so here you go.

one thing i love about this show, is that all the small details you guys mentioned in the post-watch covo, eventually come into play and like everything is considered during the games, which gets you really locked in on the strategy. excited for you guys to see that! Guy we're getting closer to the first based arc in Haikyuu. I can't wait for them ti finally reach the tournaments and see how much strategy goes into each game. So far, Haikyuu hasn't even began lmao. When I think of Haikyuu these episodes don't even come to my mind because they are the introduction part. When I think of Haikyuu I think of those matches where the viewer feels like running a marathon and is sweaty from all the nerves. I think of jumping out of the couch just because something incredible just happened. I also think about the changes some characters go through situations you would never expect them too

I respect this anime so much because it really does show how intense some spikes can be. Volleyball spikes are no joke. Especially on a college level. After experiencing my first wrist sprain trying a block my first “big boy spike” I gained a newfound respect for the sport and began to take it so much more seriously until I inevitably graduated. 😭 every time I watch this damn anime I reflexively lock tf in. AND FYI since you guys are watching ahead, end credit scenes in ep 13 and ep 24 and then OVA (the arrival of haiba lev) before season 2 is a must. This OVA is not repeating from the previous episodes, it is an extra episode where you will meet this new character in season 2 so yea it is a must.

i honestly don’t even know when this show became one of my goats. i liked it from ep 1, but i fell in love at the end of season 1. then, the whole of season 2, i sunk another level deeper, and before i knew it, i was quite literally screaming and crying during s3 and i was like, “oh wow i don’t think another anime has made me feel emotions this strong besides aot” so yeah don’t worry too much about when it’s gonna like knock your socks off LMAO just enjoy and it’ll happen sooner or later (hopefully 🤞🏾)

Introducing the whole team, showing their strengths and weaknesses, their dynamic and what they need to improve, is essential to enjoying the actual tournament games later. The manga is 45 volumes long, 402 chapters. The end of S4 is up to chapter 293. The movie is chapter 294 and on, adapts around to 33 chapters. As far as I've heard, the series will conclude in two movies, the first being the "The Dumpster Battle". They don't intend to make a fifth season.
