The Sendai City Gymnasium is real. The drawings in this anime were made to look like that real gym. From the outside to the inside. Even that weird wall sculpture of a face of a smirking man lol Now it's called Kamei Arena Sendai. Also, Furudate, the manga writer had said he noticed the smell of Salonpas spray in those Japanese high-school volleyball tournaments. It's for pain relief.

I completely get what Carter’s saying because this show has a way of making you feel bad for the other team even though you’re rooting for the boys. There were times when I was gutted for the other team but at the same time was ecstatic for karasuno. Haikyuu is just so special and brings me so much joy and comfort. Episode 16 is one of the best episodes for me. I love it, not many shows actually give us the pov of losers. When i watched it for the first time i rooted for karasuno so bad and didn’t even realise that the other teams are trying their best as well. They are also some teenagers that have ambitions and want to play more games. I love that it showed how those who lose feel. From this episode I still rooted for my favourite team but also was excited for the other team. This show isn’t only about hype. It’s about winning and losing, going for your goals, finding yourself in characters that aren’t even main cast. I can relate to almost all of them and it makes it hard to always root only for karasuno. I love this show and especially manga, it gives me lots of motivation.

I LOVE THE HYPE FOR HINATAA RAHHHH like even if you don’t like him now, i really think it’s hard to watch the entire series and not like him at the end of it because he’s just so easy to root for and he’s such a special athlete also, carter, in my humble opinion from here until literally the end of the show (barring some slower eps that i still love but yk) it literally gets better and better. i will forever scream from the rooftops that seasons 2 and 3 are some of the most enjoyable television i’ve watched. seriously banger after banger and from an outright quality standpoint, they’re just so good. so well written, animated, directed, paced, and AUTHENTIC. nothing ever feels forced or unrealistic, every single moment, good or bad, always feels earned, which is kinda an insane feat for a sports anime CANT WAIT FOR HYPEKYUU ON THURSDAY 😁

@questta, youre right, thanks for the correction. Just double checked, Sugawara's voice actor actually only did the voice for child Minato in the flashbacks. Adult Minato was voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa(also voiced Ubayashiki from Demon Slayer/Paul Greyrat and many more).

Wrt Carter’s question at the end of the episode - I used to play rugby in school, there were a few matches where we won by 50 points (which sometimes led to a forfeit) and there was a part of me, in the back of my mind, that felt bad for them, but honestly during the match I mainly felt a high/elation from us all playing so well and I think most of my teammates probably felt a similar way based on the mood of everyone

@48:50 Cannon's seeing a pattern of many good shows going consistently upwards then at some point it dips down. I agree. Especially US shows. But not Haikyu. That is one of the reasons Haikyu is my fav. My Top 2 are AOT and Haikyu. But Haikyu is my fav. In terms of complexity of story plot & direction between the two, AOT is top. Haikyu, great cast as well, great story telling, music that enhances the experience watching it. But in terms of my favorite, which one I feel more to, has a satisfying ending, a show that makes me happy, it's Haikyu.

YeH, Haikyuu is only consistently better. I’ve never seen someone be like “hmm Haikyuu’s earlier season x is better than the later season y” in terms of plot. Haikyuu’s last arcs go HARD. They are so good, I would sell my kidney to get them animated now. Never in million years I would guess the stuff that happens in the manga. So when I read it I was shook, like I couldn’t believe some of the events took place. All of this while everything is kept as realistic as possible. Like really, in terms of sportsmanship world it’s very realistic

Still, at the end of the day, what matters is you did your best. If your team loses, then you will know what is lacking and maybe distinguished why the other team is better. Watching them get so hype about the first match and the other players' reactions to Hinata's jumping is so cathartic. My hands are always cold whenever I watch Haikyuu because of all the chills it gives me. Also, PLS it's so funny whenever Carter and Cannon look over at Brigg after they show the massive gap btw the two team's points😂 Being worried that the show will not surpass the earlier seasons is a very valid point. When I first watched Haikyuu, I was worried that season 4 wouldn't meet my expectations, because both the artstyle and the story were going from what I felt was the best yet in season 3 to something completely unknown (the artstyle changed for valid reasons tho, due to the pandemic and the creators wanting to stick to the manga's original style more). But I realised that I didn't have to worry at all LMFAO. Haikyuu will always be Haikyuu-ing and I can't get enough of it, personally:)
