This was never been proven in any way, but do you guys remember when the Captain Kuro faked his "capture" by using the scape goats? The theory was, the Navy guy who was put on hypnotise to think he captured Kuro was Morgan the Axe guy. He had the similar facial features and his jaw was broken when Kuro raided the Navy ship. By "caputuring" the infamous "Kuro", Morgan got the promotions and ended up in the Captain position, and by being hypnotised, his mentality forever changed into this bad guy.

Even if you don't react to them, it would be cool if you read the rest of the cover stories just so you have context for a lot of things that are gonna happen in the future. Idk why the anime stopped adapting them after this bc it just leaves anime onlys with gaps in the main story and you'll definitely have questions later on.

I've always loved the crew being together on their boat in one piece. Watching it gives me a feeling that I find hard to put into words as much as I try, but it feels so real and enchanting. Like the pleasantness of hearing the one piece music and watching the camera go around as we watch each member of the crew do every day tasks and the sheer simplicity but beauty of just that. Or even like them all sleeping on the hammocks on the ocean at night, just makes me want to set to the seas and experience something as freeing as that haha. One piece to me is like like pure romanticism. I know Oda's talked about that theme a few times and I get it. I feel like most people that watch the show know what I mean when I say that idea of pure adventure and freedom that the story and the crew represent is so alluring. I think it touches on a primitive desire for exploration and discovery that everyone has especially as kids but kinda forgets over time, and it makes you relive that feeling and reminds you of how simple but right it is to feel that way.

So these 2 episodes were cover stories that are canon in the manga but they are rarely animated. One that you skipped that got animated was buggy finding his body parts. One that was not animated that happened in the manga when this saga began is hatchan(octopus) escaped arlong park and found a mermaid and starfish than began a food restaurant.

Yea don't listen to any who tells you to skip canon because Oda is a man who goes back and looks over his past work so it can be weaved into future arcs. Which is how and why One Piece has the best world building.

I 100% agree. After watching over 100 animes and finally succumbing to the looming dread that was One Piece, literally the second Luffy popped out of that barrel I immediately fell in love. After rewatching for like the 5th time, i still get that feeling every second of the show, it’s amazing

Mightve been covered before but to go with the romanticism idea and also a fun fact, One Piece's first iteration (not sure if plural) that eventually turned into this show was called Romance Dawn. Not really adding anything here. Just thought it was a funky name worth knowing about 👍

Nah. It’s too easy to get burned out watching that much of any show at once. You don’t want good episodes to feel like a chore just because they’ve been stuck there for 10 hours already.

this IS canon. It's just a little weird. These were published as a story across the cover pages of multiple chapters, so it's kind like a mini side story that runs parallel to the main story

I can't post the sleep schedule that Oda confirmed later in the series, but Zoro sleeps in the early morning(4am-7am) then naps whenever. Luffy in true fashion just sleeps whenever he's sleepy and wakes up whenever.

as I was saying from previous posts, I can't call these "fillers" as filler because most of the time, these episodes ties to the story later on. That's why I highly recommend, not skipping any episodes of One Piece

As a manga reader I didn't really give them any real attention other than admiring the art, eventually I realized they might actually have some meaning behind them but they aren't very meaningful, mainly some funny side stories. They don't hold any crucial information just some carefree lore on the side

this is a bad idea, If you want marathons for whatever reason (they won't release any more episodes regardless) do it MAX 6 hours at a time not to ruin their focus and experience. I feel like 2-4 hours would be the best, where they get in to the flow of episodes but not overwhelmed.
