Great reactions and recap of the season. There are so many good characters. My top three are Hinata Daichi Tsukki I would say Tanka would be in my top ten. He's a great character and has great moments. And Iwaizumi is such a great character and has some good shots. I also think Oikawa's set was pretty amazing. I respect him as a player. He works hard. I may not exactly jive with his personality at times, but he definitely works hard. I'm excited for you guys to start season three and curious to see what you think about it.

as a haikyuu lover, i'd rank season 1 a 9.2, and season 2 a 9.6! of all the characters we've met so far (waiting for a certain blonde to make an appearance), my top 3 are oikawa, kenma, and hinata. watching the journey of all of you coming to enjoy haikyuu has been such a fun experience, and it makes me so happy to hear such high rankings for a show that had a rocky start for some of you. thank you for all of the reactions and i can't wait for season 3 :)

A couple of things that may or may not change your predictions. When Season 3 was announced, the manga was just a few chapters ahead from were S3 ends, so there was not many more content to cover and that's why the season is short. I guess that's also the reason why there were like 4 years in between S3 and S4, who knows. The prelims don't happen at the same time in every prefecture. As we saw during the first tournament, Inter High, Tokyo had their prelims after the guys at Miyagi.

Season 2 is the PERFECT combination of the training arc, great character development, meeting all of the new characters and absolute epic matches of course culminating with a 2 season rivalry finale with Aoba Johsai. No wonder it's a crowd pleaser. Oh and also the OP is an absolute banger

my favorite season 🙏 character writing is insane and i really really love it. i'm so glad you guys seemed to enjoy yourselves!! can't wait to see your reaction to the Seijoh ending, they're my favorite team on the series and although i do think they deserve that win, their ending is still very heartwarming and wholesome. my top 3 characters are oikawa/Iwaizumi at #1 (they come together to me), kageyama/hinata at #2 (same thing) and as of characters you've met rn I'd put kuroo or kenma at #3, but you'll see

Dont forget to check out the ending of the second movie!! The movie is basically just a compilation of the aoba johsei v karasuno match, but it shows some scenes of aoba johsei after the loss, how they "cope" etc. Pretty nice to see! :D

32:40 Carter "They'd (Karasuno team) get home from a tiring day, Hinata would-be "Throw me some balls!" When people are tired, that passion at that moment goes out the door lol Although Hinata's passion is something else! Unlike most people including the rest of Karasuno members, especially Tsukishima lol, Hinata has such a strong stamina! He's like an "Energizer" battery! It's easier for him to have that 24/7 passion than anyone else. The one who comes close to him is his volley buddy Kageyama. One of the contributors to that strong stamina is his 30min biking between Karasuno school and his home, up and down the mountain. He chose to go to Karasuno High School because of The Little Giant he saw on TV back when he was in elementary school.

Since I've watched all of the episodes of this show, read the manga and knowing the some of characters development and knowing the ending, it's hard for me to say my Top 3 up to S2 only. The ones that have such a strong impression on me I can say Oikawa is my no 1! Hinata's 2nd! And 3rd .. Iwaizumi .. for up to S2. So many have listed out why Oikawa is awesome! Hinata, it's also very apparent why he's in Geks Top 3s here. His passion and his stupid confidence. The passion between him and Kageyama, he has it a bit more than Kageyama imo but that confidence? He and Kageyama are on the same level. Another point that I like Hinata is his willingness to learn and his overwhelming appreciation of others. The way he respects the challenge and the other players. His overwhelming appreciation of other characters is just awesome for me! Him calling Oikawa "Dayo-sama!" The Great King, Mad Dog having a cool name lol etc

Why so low on karasuno? They're like the 2021 bengals when they got burrow and chase and all of a sudden clicked. They're a really good team which they just proved by beating aoba johsai. People get shook when they hear "I'll beat you next time" because in this show they're never sure there is a next time 😂. It's one and done tournaments where to meet your rivals you need to be lucky or beat everyone else. To say "play you next time" is like saying see you next finals.

I think my top 3 up to s2 would have to be (in no particular order) Hinata, Oikawa, and Iwaizumi. My top 3 does change some for later seasons but Hinata will always be my goat for this show. On a different note Sugawara's dub VA is probably one of my favorite VA due to another show I hope you guys get to at some point. I would love to hear your guy's favorite VA for any of the shows you guys have watched so far. I always love hearing a dub voice and going where have I heard them from before. Alot of them honestly surprise me. Some I just like that checks out. I cant really do that for sub VA's as much. not too familiar with some of them.

Just gonna add this thing about Oikawa that I found on tiktok that perfectly sums up his character: Oikawa’s character often gets reduced to just “perfectionist" which is not untrue necessarily but very oversimplified. Yes oikawa wants his performance to be perfect, but okawa values a good TEAM and LOYALTY before everything else. He IS willing to take a smaller role for the good of his team, and he IS willing to introduce risks that could mess with the "perfect" flow (e.g Mad Dog) in order to make his team as unpredictable and powerful as possible. THAT was his downfall. His downfall was not his perfectionism. In the end, he didn't win the finals and never made it to nationals not because of his own mistake, but because of a call by his team (to block the ball, which changed its course and didn't let oikawa receive it). oikawa's loss was not a fault of his own perfectionism failing him, and that's what makes it so devastating. Ushijima recognized this ("You should've come to shiratorizawa"). AND YET oikawa never blamed his team, instead he declared his utmost loyalty to them, told ushijima that he didn't regret going to seijoh, that his worthless pride, in himself and his team, was going to get him somewhere. oikawa himself values a loyal, dedicated team that takes pride in their plays and their decisions rather than a singular perfect performance.

I totally understand the various questions and speculations that you guys had in the discussion. All I can say as an avid Haikyuu fan is to trust the process! Furudate (the creator and mangaka of Haikyuu) is a masterful storyteller, and not once have I ever felt like anything was repetitive, although this is my personal opinion. However, I'd like to think that my judgement isn't wrong, so I can only look forward to your future reactions to season 3. It's my favourite out of all the seasons tbh! I’m glad that you guys give Oikawa the credit he deserves. I’ve seen so many reactors tried their best to dislike him even after the match in season 2. I was not a fan of him at first, and would describe him as “annoyingly good” after Sejoh won in the first season. Even when I rooted for Karasuno then, I couldn’t disrespect his volleyball. But ngl he really got me in the 2nd season. He’s such a well-written character and so relatable. My top 3 is Oikawa - a certain setter that will debut later - Noya.

I saw that the Haikyu movie is available now on Netflix! In some country/countries. One of them is Malaysia. Turn on the VPN peeps. Ahh..the convenience of replaying scenes I want.. Wasn't able to do that when watching the movie at the theater of course and was a bit disappointed I couldn't watch some scenes again cause some went by too fast 😅 Edit to add.. Watching it right now! The scenes of one of the characters that I love .. makes me teary eyed! The only character in Haikyu that have made me teary eyed is him.. ever since Season _ ... There's some scenes in this movie I wish GEKs would have surround sound system if they haven't got it already.

After seeing what happened with Blue Lock it seems studios will take the best staff for movies and leave the minimum for seasons because movies make more money :(. Haikyuu tried not having the top talent in season 4 and it bombed financially. It seems to keep the high quality they can only create movies. I hope instead of fitting everything in they leave it open so hopefully someone can finish it properly.

The best thing about Oikawa is that his pride pushes him beyond his limits. What he said to Ushijima was not even a threat.. it was a promise. This is why many fans have this love-hate relationship with Oikawa's character, because if you encounter someone like him in real life.. you would think he's arrogant.

I think I remember a member talking about a possible anime continuation after the final movie way back mid season 1 in here. For those who've seen this movie and seen the after credit scenes, you all have an idea what the final movie will be about. That should cover the "this _" and hopefully the "that_" and the rest_ will be in anime series form. I don't care if the quality of anime is less or something like S4 which didn't bother me at all cause it's not that noticeable to me. As long as they get the rest done up to the ending of manga in anime form.

@Hem-ehem first 3 seasons and the last movie had the same director. Season 4 had great moments but I remember thinking it didn't have the same care /love as the first 3 seasons.Maybe COVID had something to do with it. But watching the last movie, the small touches were back that added so much.Could feel the extra love from source material.
