a series of fun facts for tsukki’s moment 🫶🏼: tsukishima’s VA never actually participated in any group cheers ever (he just sat in the studio whenever Karasuno screams in victory) because of tsukishima’s reserved personality. Now, THIS MOMENT was the first time he ever cheered loudly in celebration for a point, plus it was FOR himself and by himself. That’s why it makes this whole moment so much more special. The VA also mentioned how hard it was to actually deliver the victory yell so that it would still suit tsukki’s character bc in the manga, tsukki only clenched his fish and cheered silently, but well the VA did SO SO well, thank you Koki Uchiyama 😮‍💨🔥

Yeah, they are quick to judge characters by appearance or voice or first impressions overall, specially that Mckay guy. It doesn't really matter if the characters is good or bad, they pick a first impression and retian it. Its like that with most reactors too though. Some people take Oikawa or Tsukishima for devils in the first episodes and hate them till the end of the show regardless of their future character moments. An example too is Nishinoya. As a character Nishinoya is pretty mid. Overall pretty shallow, even compared to Tendou. but somehow he is one of the most liked of the series. While Tendou and Oikawa stay stigmatized as "the opposition" and not very well liked by most. Thats why first impressions are powerful. Though Geks seem to like Oikawa a lot, which was a very welcome surprise considering their history with characters of Oikawa's type

Theres spoilers for future teams/characters so I wont link it here but on screen Tanaka is the 3rd highest scorer for Karasuno (on screen) behind Hinata and Asahi. Very clutch player and I'm glad you guys recognize his abilities!

Tendo is hilarious! Tanaka and Daichi are definitely MVPs. This was my favorite Tsukki moment and watching him be happy about it was great. It was such a great block. So cool that Cannon is already rewatcing season one. This would be my third (not counting this one) Haikyu rewatch. Currently, I'm on season 4. I'm also reading the manga. I'm excited for the next batch on Thursday.

There is a conversation in the manga that didn't make it to the anime, it's Kuroo talking with Hinata and Lev about that certain times 1 point is just as good as 100 points then Bokuto interrupted saying that how is 1 equal to 100 and the moment was over but Tsukki was listening, he didn't understand either as he is a very logical person. But this time Hinata says that to him and he smiles finally understanding what they meant that time... My heart 😭♥️

That moment is top 3 in the show. Tsukki being so antagonistic the whole series up to now, but the whole time you just want him to care a little more and try a little harder. It started last season, but we kinda got to see him start giving a little more effort. It's hard to imagine him being motivated, but Bokuto told him, when you have that moment, you'll know it, and you'll love volleyball afterwards. This season is so good, man.

carter the first time i watched this, i literally scream cried so please, i think we all understand that haikyuu just pulls it out of you in these moments. like i neverrr happy cry irl or when i watch tv, but seeing tsukki clench his fist and let it out like that after that FUCKING GEM of a flashback? it’s just too well done. i think it’s so effective because that flashback is ‘the moment’ that tsukki starts fuckin cookin HIS moment, so seeing it again is just a perfect little bow on tsukki’s arc. all of that slow build up to such an epic release is so cathartic and that is exactly how tsukki himself feels in that moment, which i think is why it’s so emotional. idek if this made any sense but 10/10 moment 10/10 reaction, i’m so happy rn

That moment, knowing who Tsukki was, how "quiet" he's been compared to other Karasuno regulars, seeing him scream was just stupendous! It hits you in the feels which you rarely do when watching most TV shows! This is the moment I've been waiting for you all since Tsukki came into the scene in Season 1! Tsukki's character development here is just Chef's Kiss. Every single time, I teared up 😭 Tsukki is one of my Top 3 characters in Haikyu! Hinata, Oikawa and.. Tsukki!

24:33 a tsundere is a term used a lot in anime, it's a character who seems cold/harsh (typically on the surface) but is actually caring/becomes warmer. those guys were referring to the old man defending karasuno, then shaming them. 27:31 brig is so real for this 31:45 only second to the dude who does the seijoh chant at the top of his lungs 39:46 let mc(kei) cook! we love to see the respect for the goats #1 and #5(and tendo #5 clowning, im not apologizing)! they happen to be my faves in this whole show.

Daichi is definitely better in receiving serves & digging spikes more than anyone because he needs to constantly be there, unlike nishinoya that has to be subbed out every now and then. Give him all the flowers, he deserves it ♥️

AN IMPORTANT FACT about Tsukishima's scream here, there was an interview with Tsukishima's VA that when they were working in the studio and there is a scene including Karasuno's players screams and cheering, the director of the voice actors told Tsukki's VA to sit out in these scenes where he is not with the rest for the WHOLE 2 SEASONS, so after Tsukki's block the scream was the a scream after holding back for 2 seasons with the rest of the VAs with him, he was not in any cheering and celebrations scenes for two seasons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiVeC_QnMp8 this is him speaking about it but it is all in Japanese with no ENG translations

Tsukki's moment is one of the key to Karasuno's evolution. He is one (if not most) of the smartest players in Karasuno and he just got "unlocked". This is why fans love Season 3! I saw that most of your faces turned red. No worries, a lot of reactors did cry over this moment. 🥰

Everyone always talks about is Kuro and Bokuto this ep. But I gotta take a moment To give Yamaguchi his flowers. All of Tsukki's growth jump started from Yama's "pride", giving him that talk. Even when Tsukki finally puts into words."I'm plan to stop a few of his spikes" its to him. Season 1 everyone refers to Yamaguchi as Tsukki's sidekick. No man. He is his "HALO" one that's been there from the start and believes in him most. Halo around the moon indeed.

Such a good freaking episode. I tear up every time I watch this Tsukki momoment. It's so powerful. Haikyuu is so good at building up to these moments and getting you really emotionally invested, so when things like this happen, the emotions hit hard. This moment I think is one of the top 3 that makes this show peak. And why everyone worked so hard on the polls for voting 😉

This season is just so damn good. Haikyuu seasons just get better and better from 1 to 2 to 3 and it's just crazy how they do it. Some shows have some bad later seasons but Haikyuu just keeps cooking. Tsuki's scene was spoiled for me by those stupid youtube top 10 or top 15 anime moments but watching the show up until that point and seeing how it happened made it not feel like a spoiler. I can rewatch it over and over with a few other scenes from Haikyuu.

It was mostly due to the comments about an NBA anime, me personally I'd much rather they'd watch something like Ace of Diamond or Major if they were going into more sports anime. Tsukki's moment is one of (if not) my favourite moment in all of Haikyuu that I needed to subscribe to the Patreon to see your reaction early and in full. I find it hard to describe my emotions when I see this moment but I think because it has been such a long time coming for him that you can't help but feeling overwhelming pride and happiness that his 'I love volleyball' moment has finally happened. I think it's also so meaningful because everyone else in Karsuno had a levelling up moment during the training camp except Tsukki so now that he has had his, he's more integrated and an integral part of the team. Ahhh I just love this moment so much! Also can I just say how much I love the fact that you guys don't hate on Oikawa. I've seen reactors before hate on Oikawa because he almost hit Kageyama that one time back in middle school when he was having a panic attack. They see that incident and then can't look past it and hold a grudge against him and don't see him for the GOATED player he is. I love Oikawa so I'm so glad that you guys are giving him his flowers and recognising the incredible skill he has worked so hard to craft. He really is THAT GUY.

I love the detailing in this show. The way even the reactions to each one of the spikes or each way a point is scored are depicted always speaks volumes. Like in this instance, after Tsuki blocked Ushijima, the crowd (audience) went rabid, but Karasuno was just standing there looking at him in silence. It wasn't until he screamed that they reacted with the same hype. It was so heartfelt how they cheered for their teammate finding the love for the game, rather than him blocking Ushijima and winning the set. They have such a positive and wholesome dynamic. That's what you call a healthy team 🔥

Furudate reeeally played the long game with Tsukki's character development. I love how they sprinkled in little developments and hints over the first two seasons worth of arcs... and then rewarding everyone with the MOST satisfying pay off! The way my heart broke at the start when they were talking about how unlikeable Tendou's character design is JSHBDHJWB I literally love him so much and hearing all the trashtalking about him always hurts me😭 But it's okay, he gets better later on haha! Furudate did introduce him a bit too strongly for most people, including me, but whenever he acts a little strangely, it's really just him being his quirky self LMFAO He's just a bit of a weirdo, and his VA really sells his personality well, which is part of why I adore his character! "Who is this guy telling him what to do?" To answer Jack's question, that's Semi Eita, a third year from Shiratorizawa. He used to be Shiratorizawa's official setter, before Shirabu (the current setter, a 2nd year) took his place. The anime doesn't make it very clear, but Semi is pretty frustrated with the fact that he got his starting position taken away from him, but since he's a nice guy and a third year, he prioritises his team's needs above his own wants. And he often tries to give Shirabu advice on setting, specifically to their ace, Ushijima. You'll see him pop up now and then throughout season 3, so just knowing a few things about him might make the dynamic within the team less confusing haha!

I’m not sure if you’ve read the Haikyuu manga, but for me, “Asahi’s defining moment” is in the later part of the manga, where they discuss “what it means to be an Ace.” And unfortunately, it’s very likely that the anime won’t reach that part . This is REALLY REALLY such a shame.😭😭

Of course how could we forget about Tsukki's amazing moment in episode 4? This episode is the culmination of all of Tsukki's character development so far. He went from not caring at all about being defeated, looking down on himself as he compared himself to Hinata, who's a natural born athletic monster with amazing physical capabilities, to trying to understand why it is that everyone around him seems so immersed and into the game, and finally arriving at this historic moment when his efforts have finally yielded a result so amazing that it's the very moment that gets him hooked onto volleyball. His persistent, slow and steady attempts at blocking Ushijima finally bore fruit, and where he would usually shrug off getting just one measly point, he yells out his satisfaction and feelings of victory for the first time since he was introduced. It's been speculated by the Haikyuu fandom that the reaction of everyone after he scores the point is not because he managed to block Ushijima, but because no one on their team has ever seen Tsukki so enthusiastic or happy about getting a point before, and to the extent that he shouts about it (Tsukki screaming like Tanaka after a spike? Pfft, who would believe that?). It's a testament to how much the team has seen him grow, and how much he surprised them by acting out of character the moment he feels as though all his hard work has paid off. It's a wonderful start to a spectacular character growth, and I can't wait to get to future episodes where he displays his newfound passion for winning and the game!

Slam Dunk did for basket ball, What Haikyu did for volleyball. Got a bunch of Japanese youth to play the game. Some of those future Olympian's. In the sport genre Slam Dunk is the GOAT. 7th best selling manga of all time.OG that influenced everything that came after. Inoue even received a commendation from Japanese basketball association, for his service to sport. I prefer my sport 's genre more based on realism. Generation of miracles still baller though.

Semi Eita who is #3 for Shiratorizawa is their former starting setter! He was Oikawa's direct competition in middle school/high school until Shirabu (#10) took his starting spot. It's said in the manga he's pretty on par with Oikawa in skill, and is an overall better player, but he's not starting because he doesn't fit the philosophy of the coach. They'll explain it a bit more later, but it's honestly more detailed in the manga 😭 it's a bit hard to miss in the anime so a lot of reactors do, which is why I'm explaining it to you guys LMAO.

As a volleyball player I'm gonna try give an explanation as to why you sometimes see on screen Nishinoya swapping with Hinata constantly. Especially when you guys think it's when we need Hinata the most. The explanation is, for every point the whole team has to do one rotation. That’s how everyone can serve. Sometimes middle-blockers like Hinata and Tsukishima will end up rotating to the back of the court. In a game of Volleyball, you never want your weakest receivers e.g. Middle-blockers (Tsuki & especially Hinata) whose jobs are to “block and hit” to be stuck receiving serves in the back court. Because it’s not their job. So in volleyball, there is a rule where the Libero has unlimited “swaps/substitutions” with Middle-blockers throughout the whole game. This is to prevent Middle-blockers like Hinata whose job isn’t to receive to end up receiving Oikawa or Ushijima’s serves. The libero (Nishinoya) whose sole job is to defend will take their spot at the back every time a middle-blocker rotates to the back. And just the same when Nishinoya (libero) rotates to the front court, the middle-blocker will swap in to be at the front. This is why you never see Nishinoya at the front of the net, because Hinata or Tsuki will have swapped with him. So sometimes when you guys are frustrated about why Hinata is not on court, it’s because if he stayed, he'll legit be receiving in the back. He’ll most likely stuff up all of Oikawa or Ushijima’s serves! Side note: Hinata and Tsukishima do get to serve in the back court, but if they stuff up their serve, Libero will swap in for them. So they don’t have to stay to receive. This might be well overcomplicating things for you guys but it may relieve some of your frustrations about why Hinata keeps subbing in and out. (I’ll repost this comment when you guys post next so that you can see it HAHAH)

Extra info: there's like half a rotation when Hinata or Tsuki will be in the back court receiving spikes or doing a back court attack, but they'll NEVER be there to receive serves. You have a whole professional defensive player called "Libero" to do that job for them!
