Tom, of you want better sleep, ditch the phone and TV at least 30 minutes before bed and try to not eat for at least a few hours prior. It should work wonders after a few weeks. Oh and "Cognitive Deficiencies" is right there too.

Re: education budgets getting slashed. America has always had an anti-intellectual streak, you guys have covered that before. And there's always been a substantial amount of people who oppose education on principle, it's just that "back then" they had to align themselves with other factions and couch their desires to destroy public education in other language to hide what they wanted. These days there has been enough of a shift in the public sphere to where they can just say it.

Really anything in education makes crap - I work for a Master’s program in CA to train school psychologists - so the people that diagnose kids and make plans for IEPs and stuff - their starting salary is $95,000 IN CA - the average rent is $3000 in CA - just doing the math on housing in Texas (where I live but only until November - it’s been my life long dream to get out of this fucking state!) I think that translates to like $55,000 in an average state … that’s really hard if you are single, much less if you have a family … these are the people that make diagnoses that can set the rest of a child’s life into motion and have a Masters and STILL make crap …

I'm not a tall man, but I am a disaster

I am a transplant recipient. I am on drugs for sorta the rest of my life that make me imunocompromised. I work in my office two of my five day week for meetings. I wear a mask when I am there. this has nothing to do with covid, though that is a concern. if I get a bug that a normal person shakes off in a day, I am in bed for three or four days. if someone at my office told me I couldn't wear a mask to work, I'd sue them into nothingness.
