The only time I was ever able to experience the “trad wife” lifestyle was when my first husband was in the Army and we lived in Europe. I nearly lost my goddamned mind with boredom after two months and spent the rest of the seven years volunteering in the chapel. I was not good at keeping the house either (and he didn’t like it. See also: this is my ex-husband).

I read the article referenced here. The husband's dad owned a couple of airlines. The husband used his dad's influence to manipulate the airline seating and get a seat next to his future wife on a flight she booked so she would be forced to share space with him. I think she had previously rejected him. When they were dating, he brought up marriage and she gave a timeline for how long she wanted to date before marrying and he said "that won't work" and coerced her to marry him quickly. I really hope the reporter got the wife's permission to print the part about having the epidural becauae the way the wife phrased it made it sound like the husband didn't know and she was sharing it in confidence.
