I think the reason Trump’s ghoulish behavior is sticking now and didn’t before is because in 2016 when he mocked a disabled reporter and a plethora of other horrible things, most people didn’t take his candidacy seriously. Now that we know he can win, people are more apt to hold that behavior accountable.
