I thoroughly enjoyed the Trogdor reference. And there should definitely be adapter kits out there for your on air sign. I found some for things like model trains and papercraft that I used for a dollhouse I'm making. It sounds like you want a 3v adapter, but definitely look it up. I'm far from an expert.

About the work requirements for SNAP benefits - you are both completely right. My mom was a single mom of me and my 3 sisters and worked at (insert large amusement park in southern California) my entire childhood. Rather than have the largest entertainment company in the world pay an actual living wage, this amusement park would give my mom vouchers for the Orange County food bank. Now I work for the state and help workers at large box retailers apply and receive SNAP benefits despite having two jobs with these massive multinational companies who don't even pay corporate taxes. It's just another way that the multinational companies get their businesses subsidized by tax payers - taxes pay SNAP rather than the big companies pay higher wages. Fuck them all

We can all feel old together; Trogdor is 20 years old! I had a drawing of The Burninator on my barracks whiteboard in 2003.

The thing that makes me rage about the SNAP work requirements is the implicit message that you're only worth being fed if you're capable of making money for someone else. If you're intentionally underemployed (as I am) because of a disability that makes full-time work for most companies a no-go (companies who already have a bias against hiring disabled folks- just look at how many job descriptions requiring you be able to lift 50+ lbs or stand for 4 hrs... for a minimum wage job). And going back to the disability thing: it doesn't take into account folks who are underemployed for health reasons. Nope, you must tank your health, work full time, and MAYBE then you can have reliable access to food.
