The most recent installment of Spy x Family is here!!

I am very curious what your thoughts are about this movie... I definitely shared mine at the end, but am I on the same page as people, or on a different planet??

It's funny. Me and my girlfriend watched this in theaters and we had similar thoughts about the movie meandering a bit and that kinda nothing happens a bit. But... Early in the movie you start by saying you want this movie to move the needle with the Loid/Yor/Anya relationship thing at least a bit. And then by the end you're like "The point of the vacation was to win a Stella for Operation Strix." No Sarah. The point of a vacation is to spend time with the family. Because they love each other. The meremere failing was the best result because it means another vacation and more time spent together. Nothing happened in this movie except Loid accepting that spending time with his family IS a thing he wants. You also missed two great moments with Loid and Anya (and Bond too): 1) When Loid is in disguise and he sees the two guys who kidnapped Anya and recognizes them because of the patch Bond ripped off, he stopped his mission dead on its tracks just to beat the crap out of them. That didn't help him in any way, but these people hurt his daughter and his dog and he felt the need to beat them up. 2) When Loid rescues Anya, there's a part where she reads his mind. You see her sparkle and hear the little noise but we never get to hear what he was thinking. We just know that it made her SO happy.

I’m on your planet. I did look up meremere. It’s not real, but people have reconstructed the recipe: https://youtu.be/eOPZn0_Yu6Q?si=z3DX6UJjILvZll3a

I think Sarah is just used to the movies with lots of plot development. She watched the Haikyuu movie and the Mugen Train movie, both are crucial to the plot. Some anime movies don't have that. This is me coming from the One Piece, Dragon Ball and Detective Conan generation.
