WHY I’M GIVING UP ON MY FUJIFILM X100V? 5 of 6 (Patreon)

I love this camera, albeit not for the reasons I initially anticipated, but it is time to let it go.
To know the reason for my decision, you’ll have to wait until Saturday, whilst in the next days we’ll retrace my story with this exceptional machine (and my beautiful models).

I was still exploring the potential of the X100V for slow-motion videos.
I made some good ones with Bianca and Martina in particular (sorry I can’t post videos on Patreon, or anywhere else for that matter), but the camera was loosing focus on the subject too often.
Also in the case of videos, the editing was too much of a hassle for me, because I’m not a video maker, so I stopped doing slo-motion videos.
Also for the backstage videos, the X100V proved immediately bad, for the 10 minutes length limitation of its clips, before overheating, and requiring a long time to cool down.
The Lumix S1 proved a much better camera for videos, until I decided not to do them any more, and concentrate on what I do better, that is photography.

But I kept trying new ways to make sense of this camera for nude photos, and I tried another experiment with £lisandra in Consonno, setting up a kind of horror gig in an abandoned bathroom, maximizing on the unique characteristics of the X100V.
Admittedly scarcely appreciated by my followers, I think this stunt was worth trying, and I personally like the result.
My project is a research on nudity, and this means I don’t have to do only the things I’m sure will please the crowd, I need to try also new and controversial ideas.

The X100V has become part of my family, so much so that in occasion of a family trip to Bologna with my older brother, this was the only camera I took, because I relied on it so much.
The bonus pictures of today are details of the paintings in Bologna’s pinacoteca.
