First of, I have a new Patron, thank you for your support

This week went well all things considered. My truck broke down on Monday, and I got it back Saturday morning. So I spent the week driving a loaner, and while I was already liking my truck, the loaning made me like it even more. I do appreciate that Penske made sure I could keep driving, the truck was an older model and not exactly comfortable, and they only gave me one key, which lead to me locking myself out of the truck.

It's the second time that has happened in the 13 years I've driven a truck, and the situations were similar both time. in loaners, with only one key and with truck where the doors stays locked when you close it. I've said it to anyone who will listen while I was waiting for Penske to send someone to let me back in my truck It should be illegal for truck doors to remain locked when you close them, they should only be lockable from the outside, to prevent locking yourself out of them.

All things considered I was lucky, the temperature was mild and I was at a truckstop so I could stay warm, but imagine if that had happened in the middle of nowhere in -40 weather? I'd have been dead before anyone could get to me.

Next time I get a loaner from Penske I am making sure they give me 2 keys.

Alright, enough about my troubles <chuckles> and on to the movies I've watched. yep I'm reviewing 2 of them this week one I watched last week and one this week,

So last week on top of watching Deadpool, see last weeks post for that review, my Sunday morning was Specter, the latest James Bond movie and it was ... well, okay?

To be honest, it had the name James Bond, and it even had the name of a classic Bond villain, but it didn't really feel like a Bond movie. Now, it wasn't a bad movie, I enjoyed it, although because they claimed it was Bond they had to do some stuff to put it in continuity, like link this movie to absolutely every other Craig Bond movies, something in rather ludicrous ways, but it was a fun watch. I just kept waiting for it to become a Bond movie.

The way it ends does make it feel like it's the last of the Craig era, and I seem to recall reading something about him being done with the franchise, and all things considered, while a weak Bond movie, I felt it ended in a satisfying way as a closure of the Craig era.

Still, I'd say, unless you are a hardcore Bond fan and can't wait for it, buy it on DVD, in the discount bin.

The movie I watched this morning was "The Last Stand" A Arnold Schwarz..... okay, you know what, I can't pronounce his last name, let alone write it. I keep calling him Arnold Schwerzerburger, the guy Who made the Terminator franchise famous. Him.

In this movie he plays a retired Narc police officer, now a sheriff in a quite little town near the Mexican border. And while most of the population is away because the football team is playing in another town, and they just have to go support them, an escaped criminal has decided he was goign to cross into Mexico there.

So it falls to him to stop him because, and I will say that since I know nothing about law enforcement, the way the criminal managed to ensure the FBI wouldn't pursue him felt believable. So him, 3 deputies, one criminal, and a gun nut are all that stands between the escapee and Mexico.

This kind of feels like it should have been a comedy, but it isn't. Everyone acting in it give it their all and in the end it's entertaining, but I think it's time Arnold steps out of the spotlight and becomes a supporting character. I'm having trouble believing that he actually does the stunts in the moving. I know he doesn't, but I should be able to believe he does.

So this is another movie I recommend getting in the discount bin.
