Nice. Haven't seen his movie in years. Time for a rewatch :)

Clarence Newman

Thank you Cassie. Needed something good to watch tonight.

Clay F

In that thumbnail, you look out of place with those goofy old guys.

Joe

This week on YT: Space Cowboys 🙂, No Way Out 🙂, and Beneath the Planet of the Apes 😨. "When you pray for rain, you gotta deal with the mud too", LOL.

Greg Quinn

Tommy Lee Jones was only about 50 when this came out. Which would have been too young to have actually been in NASA during the moon missions.

Peter Radsliff

For fighter pilots, especially test pilots, Hawk saying “Somebody had to win” is the same as “I love you Frank.” They have been through the mill together and overt sentimentality is unnecessary. They know. And, there is nothing better than dying with your boots on doing what you love to do.

That was a lot of fun, Cassie. Clint Eastwood said he was not used to doing a movie with all the special effects like this movie, and that took some getting used to. You mentioned some of James Garner's credits like The Notebook and Maverick, but have you ever seen The Rockford Files? James Garner played detective Jim Rockford. This show was HUGE back in the day, and it's held up very well and is very entertaining. It's worth checking out if you've never seen it. - Thomas

James Garner made few romantic comedies in the late 50s and Early 1960's like "The Americanization of Emily" with Julie Andrews and "The Thrill of it All" with Doris Day when he was trying to shake his Brett Maverick cowboy image.

Top tier thumbnail. Radness.

James Melton

Four old movie legends here: Clint Eastwood, Tommy Lee Jones, Donald Sutherland, and James Garner. The Russian general is also Boris the Blade in "Snatch".

Bill Isaacs

The Silent Generation were stoics. They said everything Cassie. The language was of a different era. That's why you didn't understand it. My father could say a lot with a look or a syllable. It was their way and it worked.

Dustin Denner

R.I.P. James Garner (1928-2014) and Donald Sutherland (1935-2024).

Bryan Fritchie

Your desired ending isn't how guys communicate. Have you seen the video of the gamers, where one of them asks the others something like, "would you be there for me if I were going through something?" If not, Google it. That's how guys communicate. 👍🏻

Thomas P Hamilton

Cassie and Carly would like The Americanization of Emily. That was a good one and right up their alley.

Mark White

Great reaction Cassie, I do enjoy your watches of these kinda movies. Just a fun, silly movie with a great cast. I was feeling a bit crappy this morning but this has brightened up my morning. Thank you.

Doug Adair

If you want to watch a Clint Eastwood film that he directed but was not in, watch Jersey Boys.

John P Tucker

With Cassie liking Clint Eastwood and Kevin Costner she really needs to watch “A Perfect World”

John P Tucker

When I think about Eastwood and Sutherland, I always think about “Kelly’s Heroes”. Such a great war/heist movie.

Bill W

James Garner and Clint Eastwood both served in the US Army in Korea. Garner's character is likely named after his 1984 action/comedy TANK. Tommy Lee Jones and William Devane (flight director Eugene Davis) starred together in Rolling Thunder. Jones and Sutherland starred together in JFK. Eastwood and Sutherland starred together in Kelly's Heroes. At this point, all but Sutherland had portrayed cowboys in film and/or tv. (Sutherland had portrayed a 19th century Canadian Mounted Police Officer.)

Richard Maurer

That movie was sappier than I remembered but okay as long as you don’t take it seriously.

Alex

Couldn’t agree more about TRF. That show is now 50 years old and it still holds up as well as it did when I was a kid.

Arturo

The Worlds Fastest Indian (2005) with Anthony Hopkins

Joe

Anything beats another lame rom-com, LOL.

Angelfish

Clint Eastwood has been playing a grumpy character for ages. Dirty Harry and his spaghetti western trilogy. Check out Play Misty for me (1971). Also on TV series Rawhide.
