Part 2 of our DBZ Kakarot Playthrough. Since some people were asking for more gameplay we included it here. Struggled hard with Raditz but Bethany eventually got him.

A lot of fans have expressed that they want to see more material with Raditz, and that he doesn't get enough screentime despite being Goku's brother. A lot people were even calling for him to be a DLC character in DB Fighterz back when the season passes were ongoing.

1:07:23 I think Raditz said that because he was confident that Goku wouldn't try to challenge him to get Gohan back. As the audience, it seems obvious to us that Goku would make such a decision. To Raditz, it wouldn't make sense that a pure blooded Saiyan would try to save their son by fighting an opponent they stand no chance against on their own when the same result could be achieved through by just killing 100 humans. It's sorta like Omni Man not understanding why Mark would fight against him rather than joining the Viltrimites, written far before Invincible did it.

Yeah, but it's moments like the first Special Beam Cannon that I'm getting at. DBZA had shown it, and it's one of the most iconic story beats, and Ken still wasn't sure 😅. It's all good though.

It's a werewolf thing for Saiyans to transform. They need a full moon and their tail. I look forward to your progress. If I have any advice, try to grind in prep for future battles. That and dodge. The battles will get more intense.

Great gameplay! Raditz was definitely a pain in the ass for sure, but once you get the hang of things the boss fights become a bit easier. A hint, when the enemies glow red, they're charging up for an attack and its best to get away from them as far as you can or dodge them since blocking can be worn down over time. Piccolo was definitely harsh at this point in the series (since recently moving away from being an antagonist), so gentle parenting is definitely not his style lol. This was by far one of my most favorite modern DBZ games (aside from the PS2 & below ones), and it's great to be reliving those moments with you guys. Looking forward to the next part!

34:13 As Vegeta was hinting at, his focus at this point in the story is to get his revenge on Frieza first and foremost. Later dialogue makes it more obvious, but Vegeta didn't value the Saiyans as "people". His constant bragging about him being the prince is more his selfish way of saying "I'm the strongest of a race of cold-blooded killers" instead of a declaration of patriotism, so wishing Planet Vegeta back wasn't of interest to him. As to why the more humbled and emotionally available Vegeta post-Buu Saga didn't wish it back? Universe 7's Saiyans were already ruthless space pirates even before being enslaved by Frieza, so I doubt he vibes with their way of doing things anymore.

Alright, screw it, I'm starting my run of this now. Lemme grab my Steam Deck. Gonna start w/ hard mode to see how things play out.

With games like this its best to gain as much material as possible before you rush to the next big fight. Because without the level ups and boosted effects the main fight will be a real challenge especially as you get further ahead in the story. I havent played this game myself yet though but i think its pretty easy from what i heard at least. Im sure special attacks work the same in this as do in other db games generally its best to dodge Beam attacks(stuff like Kamehameha) they will break your block move when they are used when a block is broken it will take a moment for it to recover(if you are able to dodge i heard beth say she couldnt in one of raditzs moves, but with the small ball ki blasts its best to block like you were. Dont forget to use the special attacks yourself in the ki blasts section i think they require that orange bar next to gokus head icon to use. I always love having a bit of a struggle in fighting games it gives a accurate representation of how the characters feel im sure lol.

Dont forget you guys have a map, they are especially useful on open world maps like this one The reason why its apples is cause in the actual show we dont get to see piccolo hunting for them but one night he just appears over gohan and drops the apples down to him after hes cried himself to sleep on top of the tower of rock lol

1. Transformation into great ape only takes seeing the full moon. 2.It would take thousands to millions of years for the moons loss to have environmental impact on a massive scale, the Z fighters wished it back off screen before (master roshi destroyed the moon when goku transformed before) 3. Dragon ball characters are insanely powerful, characters like Buuhan could collapse all of reality with collapsing dimensions by just screaming. King vegeta (Vegeta's father) swiped his hand and destroyed 3 planets, Goku as a much weaker kid then gohan is soloed an entire army by himself. Yamcha while made fun of could easily destroy several planets without much effort. Yamcha can defeat entire casts of anime like naruto, one piece etc which is a meme in the anime community. There is something called dragon ball heroes with alternate universes where goku is boundless meaning his power is immeasurable for the most part. Theres a meme "can he beat goku" and the answer is no lmao

The Saiyan Great ape transformation happens naturally like ken pointed out with a werewolf and the full moon. But if saiyan has the proper training he can keep his intelligence or what little they have lol when they transform.

We knew nothing about Dragon Ball when starting so pretty much everything in the Saiyan Saga is going to seem new and fresh. Especially since DBZA was REALLY rough in the early episodes. We didn't get "hooked" until probably halfway through the Namek saga. Only reason we stuck with it until then was faith in the community that the show got better 🤗

Oh we totally forgot 😂 They throw a ton of info at you at once so it felt a little overwhelming for us haha. We need a bit more hand holding for each thing so that it sinks in 🤗

yeah I usually do a lot of exploring in these kinds of games and just get my character overpowered, but we are also balancing getting through the story itself 😅 might have to play some of it off camera 🤔

The game opens with Goku literally going on a nature walk with Gohan. Beth is so wrong lol Goku was clearly preoccupied being a father. In the show there are even tons of pictures in their house of other nature walks together. The fatherless traits is def a vegeta thing lol. See this is what us Goku fans continue to say. Goku gets blamed for getting killed lol that's the only time he's ever been absent. Even when he trained Uub he says he'll come visit & in the manga he visits his family all the time lol

I also just want to take this moment to all the Goku haters who say Piccolo is a better father. Let's remember he not only tortured Gohan this was much more brutal in the anime/manga but Piccolo also starved Gohan & Gohan had to learn how to hunt for food. He's 5 years old! in the show Chi Chi went crazy btw lmao

In the manga (and anime) Nappa and Vegeta weren't sitting on rocks. They were sitting on a mountain of corpses of the planet's inhabitants. Game does go in for the censoring of some of the more graphic scenes. Yeah, blowing up the moon is cheese for DBZ character. OG Roshi back in Dragonball was moon level, and Piccolo is many times stronger than Roshi. It's why I always laugh when people ask questions like: "could Naruto beat Goku?" No. No he could not.
