Well observed point re allegory. In this way art makes sense of our lives. Post drinks this would make a hilarious DVD commentary.

Appreciate the shout out to the gentle giant Don Williams. “Good Olde Boys Like Me” is sort of my life anthem. I had trouble connecting with *Nashville* as a teenager, in part because its attitude toward country music seemed a bit sneering & its politics confused (albeit in what I now recognize to be an interesting, quasi-reactionary way). This episode has definitely inspired me to revisit it with fresh eyes.

Love Filthy’s take about how Nashville is the best musical. Love that perspective and really expands the idea of what a musical is

So inspired to watch 💕✨🍿Nashville 🎶🍻 now

Omg love that you think grace and frankie is an evil show I said basically the same thing two years ago and alienated everyone around me!!!

This Tim Dillon discourse is VITAL. Was listening to a sports podcast with some guys who are definitely ABSOLUTE LIBTARDS, but you know, they’re sports guys, toughness & all that, they’re not *too woke* but agree with all the bullshit. Demanding women’s sports gets more attention type shit.. They had tickets to Tim Dillon & I HOWLED. Fucking obviously you would. Yes so fucking refreshing, he’s a real funny man who just assembles Frankenstein jokes derived from a Twitter discourse algorithm. If he’s getting praise from those types of people he’s insidiously horrific

Gosh, I can't wait to see Nashville now, great episode. 💗 On your recommendation, I bought a copy of Estée: a Success Story. Someone long ago sprayed the pages with Youth Dew. It’s been an absolute delight to have it wafting out at me as I read. Don’t you just love hearing from prominent people of that era about the lives they lived? It amazes me to see how many of them, who were in different countries and excelling in all these different areas of expertise, all seemed to know each other. It's hard to imagine how they pulled that off back then… If you enjoyed Estée’s story, you might really like Me by Katherine Hepburn, as well.

I’d listen to an episode of Jack getting drunk and revealing every male celeb’s dick size

I used to watch this repeatedly with my friend in junior high. The other one we constantly rewatched: The Fly with Jeff Goldblum, by Cronenberg. Thanks for covering this Jack. Loved the episode.
