NEW JOURNEY BEGINS.
For our second extra content series, we decided to go with ATEEZ (as we love their music so much).

Just like with SKZ, we're starting from the very beginning, and going forward!

Hope you'll enjoy this journey (along with our SKZ journey)!

Love.

This is so exciting. I’ve been resisting becoming Atiny but I have a feeling I’m going to fail.

Taylor M

Ahhhh yay!! So happy about this. Thank you for picking up Ateez too!

Briana

Very excited about this journey. I’m pretty sure this was their debut. Them pre debut (don’t quote me bc I’m still new to this world) all they’d do was dances. On the KQ Entertainment YouTube their pre debut dances are there. 🙃 yunho has a solo dance as well.

Yep, I'm Liberty

There is sooooooo much I want to say about this, but first off, the fact that Han couldn't even watch the screen because he was so shocked by the sound had me dying! (ᗒ ᗨᗕ) As for the other stuff I'm going to only mention a couple of things to prevent myself from typing out a novella. Yes, this is their debut, however they do have a pre-debut release titled "From" released under their trainee name KQ Fellaz. It was filmed while they were in LA training. As Briana mentioned there are also dance-only videos that they released (4 in total) during this time to show of just how well they can dance. (I, of course, have links to all of those if you are interested in diving into them. lol) It's funny that you mentioned Block B. So back in 2013 when Block B left STARDOM, Seven Seasons Entertainment was created solely to manage them, which in 2016 became a sub-label under (you guessed it) KQ Entertainment. ATEEZ was the first artist that they actually debuted, so that is who they are best known for (*hint - next time you watch a KQ video, read the little boxes that are floating around. One says Block B, one says ATEEZ, and the newest one says xikers). So much for not writing a novella, but it's the best I can do considering how much more there is when it comes to them. I can't wait for the rest!

I'm really looking forward to seeing more of ATEEZ's music! I've followed them a little bit, partly on their own account and partly because they're close with Stray Kids, but I'm excited to see more. One thing I do know and find absolutely delightful about the ATEEZ/Stray Kids/TXT overlap, though: Wooyoung, Changbin and Yeonjun are buddies and call their friend group the Darlingz. Wooyoung and Yeonjin are friends from when Wooyoung (along with Yeosang) used to be Big Hit trainees, before Yeosang left to go to KQ and Wooyoung followed him; wildly, Wooyoung knew Changbin as a friend of a friend back in school, before either of them were trainees, and then they reconnected as idols; and then Wooyoung introduced Changbin and Yeonjun. The image of the three of them hanging out together is just: immaculate vibes.

ateez are insane performers pretty much since debut. i wasn't an atiny back then but i remember seeing their debut and being super impressed. they didn't feel like rookies to me, it felt like they've been doing this for years. i'm glad i eventually became a fan because they're an amazing group all around and they're definitely some of the most unique performers i've seen without exaggerating. often times in kpop groups the main goal is to look cool and/or pretty no matter what type of song you're performing but ateez likes to focus more on facial expressions and embodying the mood of song, making their performances look very theatrical. they don't mind looking kind of "crazy" if it matches the vibe of the song and i applaud them for that. it certainly makes for incredible live performances.

Anyone who discovers ATEEZ falls in love with them. I don’t know if you guys watched Kingdom but they won the highest scores from the professional judges every round. Everyone is blown away by their talent and it blows my mind that people are still discovering them. They are a force to be reckoned with. I love you noticed the “buzzing” sound. People don’t mention it much but it’s one of my favorite things about this song. And the music changes through the entire song. Eden/Maddox do a PHENOMENAL job when it comes to the production of their songs but Hongjoong and Mingi have massive input on the production as well. You need to check out some of their “softer” songs. ATEEZ does hard perfect but even in their more light songs, they tend to do something that is just different; it still has a bit of edge in the musicality. If you want vocals, check out Be With You, Cyberpunk, Light, Mist, Take Me Home… to many to list. Their whole discography is phenomenal and it only gets better as they progress. Their last album “New World” is their best to date. Their Japanese singles are underrated as well as their Universe single “Don’t Stop”. Their music sounds like “ATEEZ” but sounds unlike anything else you’ve heard. Dance practices and live stages will blow you away. They have a demon line (HJ, San and Seonghwa) who transform when they are on stage. That is where they shine the most! Ok, long word vomit over. 😉

One you start, your in. Have fun! They’re chaotic and so much fun!

I've just started down and it's wonderful so far!

I'm so excited about all of this! I love reading the comments to learn more about the groups, and watching your reactions to learn more about the music. So good! Also, that tired sigh when the song is over and you realize you have soo much to say... love it

Yay! If y'all REALLY wanna start from the beginning, you should listen to From by KQ Fellaz (this is Ateez predebut name, NOT KQ Fellaz 2 which is xikers). The song was completely written by them and was their first song ever. I think hongjoong produced it too. And also, I would LOVE if you watched their predebut dance performances. They studied for a month in LA predebut, and released 3 KQFellaz dance performances, and 1 Yunho solo dance performance. They are AMAZING. the first performance actually went viral and people thought Ateez were a dance group because of how good they are. I would also love if you can do some guides too. There is a really long one called 2023 ultimate guide to Ateez but it's really detailed and interesting and I think you'll love it. Will you be doing any Ateez content outside of their music? And please definitely do Ateez performances! They are known from their performances. Very theatrical! (Check out the demon line) Also P.S. I think the reason why the people around you don't know them as much, is simply because they come from a small company. Ateez weren't promoted as Block B juniors, and Block B didn't really make KQ money since the 7seasons sub label was created specifically for them, Ateez and Block b weren't really under the same label. Ateez were the first group to train from KQ too. So theyve always had to work harder than big company groups because they don't have other groups in their label and no company stans or label connections, and their label was pretty much unknown.

Had to jump on the Patreon once I found out you're doing Ateez from the start, it's always a fun journey. I ult both SKZ and ATZ but I really believe Ateez might have the best support out there - their production and choreography teams are absolutely top tier in my opinion. You're going to have a blast with their discography, they have so many different genres going on while keeping it very much 'Ateez' throughout. Can't wait to see what you think about the songs produced by Hongjoong and I'm also excited to see you react to the Kingdom performances and other live performances if you're planning on it - Ateez are best known for those after all and the Kingdom performance of Wonderland did make them explode in popularity. It's gonna be a fun ride!

So excited to watch you go through their entire discography! Check out their KQFellaz predebut dance performance videos (3 as a group and 1 with just Yunho) to see how insane they were even then ❤️ https://youtu.be/5A9EMLrURS8 https://youtu.be/Eh9LI9EpK2E https://youtu.be/H7flzjxjQNc https://youtu.be/SOqaA-Mbw88

Handsome Sausages

We'll disregard the block b comment as you mention in the other posting but haha we're definitely considering the KQ Fellaz video!!!

Handsome Sausages

It's always fascinating (though it's obvious, why wouldn't it happen) to see members from different groups being buddies and somehow their characters weirdly merge and overlap haha

Handsome Sausages

It's the same for us!! This new album journey is getting us realllly hyped about Ateez. And you'll see when the vid comes out but we say the exact same thing about their priorities being different

Handsome Sausages

We're absolutely looking into Kingdom reactions! And wow, though we can't predict what their softer songs would be like (except for Eternal Sunshine which we reacted to early on) we already know it's going to be a blast! Can't wait :D

Handsome Sausages

Since so many people are mentioning KQ Fellaz I think it's safe to say we have to react to it here on patreon haha we'll look into it! And I mean, Block B was such a popular group though :'( And looking at Ateez now, it's insane how underrated they are in the grand scope of things

Handsome Sausages

Man we're really hyped up about the Kingdom performance with so many people mentioning it - do you think it's worth checking out the Kingdom series in general, or just for Ateez??

stela ♥

personally i think the series is worth it! the collab stages are so much fun and the song exchanges were a blast as well. all the groups involved do amazing but the 4th gen groups really showcase how theatrical everything is this era. i know a lot of people are very against the series and Mnet definitely have some issues, but i love the interactions between the groups - the sports episode was definitely a favorite 😊

Yes Block B is popular, but mainly in Korea, not so much intl which is where Ateez got their fame, not in korea. Most of the money block b made went to themselves instead of KQ/7 seasons which is why Ateez had no money in the beginning too and you can see that from their first videos where they had to use free sets to save money. They unfortunately didn't do much for Ateez in promotional or money aspect, and in fact Ateez got a bunch of hate from block b fans at the time because 7 seasons mismanaged block b and I think were worried they would only focus on Ateez (which is what Atinys are worried about now with xikers because KQ/7s mismanage their artists so bad) Ateez is also severely underrated in Korea especially, but they're more popular in countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Japan. If they were from a big4 company though, I really think they would be a lot more popular than some of the top bgs today, simply based on their talent and uniqueness

sysrae

I wish we got to see more of it, but generally we only get crumbs because so many fans become unhinged when different groups interact. Chan in particular knows, like, half the industry; he's close with Lisa from Blackpink, because they're both close to BamBam, but we'll probably never see that on camera because people would lose their minds. He went to lunch with a bunch of other 97-liners a little while ago - Jungkook, Cha Eunwoo and Jaehyun - and people only found out because the restaurant posted about it after the fact.

Trialz315

I’m glad you were on top of it so I didn’t have to find them! 🥰

Trialz315

When I saw you were doing reactions for the entire discography, I immediately had to join. I love your reactions and I love both Skz and Ateez so of course I have to be here. Buckle up cuz you’re in for a fun ride. Not only are their performances on another level but honestly they are just all around a group of good people. Not only is the music good, but the message behind it as well. They always make me proud to be Atiny. I’m so excited for this so thank you for taking your time to appreciate and listen to them.

So idk if anyone said this but Ateez started out as a Dance Group before they ever debuted as idols. They were called KQ Fellas and they have a few dance videos under that name. They originally weren’t going to be a K-pop group as they were mainly dancers to begin with. Seonghwa was actually originally going to rap for Ateez but his voice when rapping was too similar to Mingi’s so they had him be one of the vocalists. When Mingi was on hiatus Seonghwa took over his raps for the most part which was sooo fun and I absolutely loved. They are all such amazing talented guys and I can’t wait for you to react to them more and finally watch the Kingdom performance’s because the Kingdom performances for all the groups especially Stray Kids and Ateez are insane

Handsome Sausages

First off, thank you very much! Hope you'll enjoy our ride :D As you say, we're over the moon about this journey because..dang...indeed, what a ride. I wish there were more songs we could react to, albeit there are plenty ahead!

Handsome Sausages

Yes! Ppl did mention it and we are definitely reacting to KQ Fellas videos next! We knew they had to be dancers in some form or shape because their choreography was insane in all songs we've seen thus far.

J

Wait till you see their cover of "Nilli Mambo" for Immortal Songs :P

Dachi

I can totally feel your amazement and genuine love for their music. Its truly a gift to see as an atiny, it makes me proud to see two PRODUCERS appreciate what we appreciate as fans. Im so happy that u started to get inti ateez

LunaMaras

Yep! This was their debut :)

Paulina

I just came back here for some comfort content and I really can't stop laughing because... Right in this video you said that it's good that Ateez is keeping sort of traditional positions... Well... are they still...? ;)
