You asked for it, we reacted. THIS SONG IS FIRE. Hyunjin and Bang Chan collab is already a treat, and what we got - man, we have nothing to say. The dance, the MV itself, the singing, and of course, the underlying message - all on point and beautiful. THANK YOU for the recommendation. Ah. You need Howl in Harmony for your answers regarding Red Lights: https://youtu.be/j2qXVzk2apg

Alessandra

ooo handsome sausages first promo!! get it!!! i love nacific products, they're so good. like Tracey mentioned, some of the answers you can get them on Howl in Harmony. what i can say from my point of view is that it comes from obsession, like Chan is obsessed with working (almost workaholic) and despite delivering it in a very sexy/sexual way, when you read or listen to the lyrics, there's actually a deeper meaning to it. really enjoyed this reaction, when i saw it for the first time I was speechless. thank you!!

hessa

we love that nacific sponsorship for u!!!! also yes chan actually has talked about the meaning behind this song, and you can actually check out the 'song camp' video that was released beforehand! https://youtu.be/j2qXVzk2apg . they discuss the making of the song (briefly) here. they translate it as compulsion, i think. it's about being obsessive with yourself/your work. 10/10 song for me THEY ALSO DID AN OT8 VERSION OF THIS 10000/10 WOULD RECOMMEND WATCHING ON YOUR OWN TIME (concert exclusive tho rip) https://youtu.be/sQUkoR0U780

Briana

I don’t think they ever gave a straight as to what this song is about. In a making of the video hyunjin said it’s “hard sexy”. 😂 I just hope y’all listened to the ot8 version of red lights right after bc it’s lovely how they broke it up. Like, who got each part.

Kseniya

You are completely right, but Jesus Christ...

Seconding what everyone has said above about the Howl in Harmony video for explaining some of their creative process, but also (and I say this with deep affection) Chan is something of purposefully unreliable narrator about the meaning of songs, as he really dislikes explaining his own lyrics. It's a running joke at this point that, pretty much every time he's involved with a sexy/romantic song, he disavows responsibility for it - in this spirit, he's said Hyunjin is responsible for all the sexiness in Red Lights and Lee Know is responsible for all the sexiness in Drive, and also that Connected was about wifi. But goddamn, I really love this song!

Mel

Thanks for putting in that link. :-) Interesting to see how the song was developed.

Isabel

yall really be doing the most for them sponsors, the face masks had me crying lmao

Monica

First, I love Nacific. I have a set. Second, I love this song can apply to each person because everyone has a different obsession. There was another show that they discussed the meaning and what you said was on point. I don’t think it was Howl in Harmony but all the members got to listen to the song. I could be wrong on the show. Either way, I love that this song . The guitar and the way they sang this is soooo good. One of their best songs to me.

Taylor M

I feel like the video/choreo could be seen as your obsession watching you fall into it in a way. Like with Bang Chan standing over Hyunjin in bed struggling against the chains restraining him? IDK but I do love that they get people in with a first/surface read of the video and then you stay for the conversation about the deeper interpretations. Congrats on the sponsorship!!!

First, I should’ve waited to buy my skincare I literally bought from that site 2 days ago with no code. Second is D-some just living in Chan’s brain because there is multiple lives where he talks about more of the “sexier” songs he has helped write and at first he blamed Hyunjin for the song and then he said it was about obsession but it can be any type of obsession, obsession with work, a relationship, a person, etc. I think that it’s so funny that you got the meaning immediately. Or at least the one Bang Chan told us, still not sure if he was telling the truth due to the fact he says the song Drive is about driving (when you eventually listen to it you’ll know). You’ve now officially done 2/3 of the unholy trinity the obvious next step is now Drive.

Tealeafer

When Bang Chan played the track for Hyunjin, the first thing Hyunjin said was that it reminded him of “Grey,” as in 50 shades (lol). Also at least Bang Chan referenced one of his favorite musical things to do is to tease the listener and build up the music and then….not give them what they want, musically. Which like…dude. But yeah lol like other people have said, the idea of this song came from their compulsion/obsession about work and how they can’t stay away, but my personal opinion is like…c’mon. Sure, it’s about that, but it’s also sexy. Intent aside, the music is out there, and it’s both about obsession and duality AND it’s sexy- but that’s just my personal opinion. And yes, Chan jokingly refuses to admit he wrote any of the lyrics lol Edit: side note, I LOVE Nacific. Their products are legit fantastic. Congrats on the sponsorship!

Tealeafer

“The Unholy Trinity” is how I will refer to them now lol. When I broaden my scope there’s also Danceracha Wow and Connected and 3Racha Wow, and I just call the collection my beloved THOTracha songs, although 3Racha Wow kinda is just wishing it was more thotracha than it is, as much as I love it for laughs ☺️

Ashleigh

You guys are my favorite reaction channel 😊 please react to Nmixx Love me like this.

Reyna Aguirre

Hey thank you for saying my name right! 😂😩❤️ Hyunjin wrote most of the song and Chan helped with the English lyrics and the music! It’s on their Howl In Harmony series on their YouTube channel! Hyunjin tends to write a lot about toxic relationships, he has a song on The Sound called DLMLU that has the same undertones.

♡ Bludreamgirl ♡

......... I bit my lip too hard again 😂. my favorite reactors with one of my favorite skz songs. Hyunjin said that he had this song in mind when he wrote "Taste". Bangchan said that "Drive" was a metaphor for "that" (sx), while they are using "that" (sx) here as a metaphor for their drive (work ethic, unfortunately for bangchan and hyunjin {with dance} it does include obsession). I have been so excited for this reaction I meeped when it popped up. Bang also said this mv is based from 50 shades of grey. Always looking forward to more thank you!!! ♡

Nova

Love love love your reaction to this!!!! Such a fantastic song! You gotta check out Howl in Harmony for sure and even the making of the video has some good insight. I love these two on a track together. I hope they do more of it!!! Nacific promo - heck yeah. I am actually a huge fan of the brand, it has definitely worked well for me.

Yep, I'm Liberty

Just wanted to hop in and congratulate you on what is now about to be your most-viewed video of all time! I agree with the thought that they went a certain direction with the visuals specifically because the lyrics were about something deep. And the guitar?! Damn. This song was on repeat for a very long time just because of the vibe. I still listen to it pretty frequently when I want to just groove because the blend of Bang Chan and Hyunjin was just so nice. Oh, and the masks were killer!

Sam w

OMG bangchan said he likes to musically edge his listeners?! that... hm. makes a lot of sense.

Sam w

NGL, I thought you did something horrible to your eyebrows for a second there when you put on the masks. haven't tried nacific, but definitely just put in an order cause I'm terrible at money management and resisting impulses. So glad you did this song! It's definitely one that cemented SKZ as my ult group when I was first exploring. also, the ways you say the patrons names at the end gives me life.

Tealeafer

I believe on “Howl in Harmony” either Hyunjin or himself referred to it as Chan’s “favorite” thing to do (musically), and then on Channie’s Room, Chan said that was the goal (musically) with the song, to evoke that feeling

Handsome Sausages

Woohoo! For real though, Nacific products are AWESOME. We were pleasantly surprised! We're going to check out the Howl in Harmony :) workaholics relate though :')

Handsome Sausages

Yesss Nacific products are GREAT! Loving it! Also, got a lot of comments about OT8 so we'll look into it :) Thank you

Handsome Sausages

Gota check it out haha so many mentioning it. We did hear that Chan really does that - though I think I get why. But we don't know about him blaming hyunjin for the sexiness I mean...he was pretty on point with it too hahaha

Handsome Sausages

Ohhh yes that's a perspective right there. It's an interesting video for sure - and thank you! Nacific products be fly!!

Handsome Sausages

Skincare products always run out eventually :') haha we were surprised to read that D'some's interpretation was on the money - appreciating Bang Chan's work ethic paying off in our interpretation of his song haha. We'll check out the last song of the unholy trinity series soon!

Handsome Sausages

Wuw so even 50 shades comment was right. That's crazy. Also LOL for the 'cmon' cuz while we did interpret it in a deeper way, I mean, let's be real - it's still very overtly hot hahaha

Handsome Sausages

We've heard so much about drive and the joke around it we're definitely amped up in our anticipation level haha. Thank you always for the lovely comment!

Handsome Sausages

Hahaha thank you! THE GUITAR YES. Went well with our masks because otherwise we would've revealed all the ridiculous facial expressions we had to make while listening to this song

Handsome Sausages

Haha we got a lot of people saying they thought we did something weird to our face coming from the little teaser at the start of the video. Glad you're enjoying our shoutouts too XD

Neuter Lover

This is how they created MV's concept. Bang Chan and Hyunjin shared their idea to the director and they made things come true. https://youtu.be/_HclYiIuxUk And this is behind the scene of making the video. The director made it more intense. great job! https://youtu.be/GKC4z3rGOE8

anushkakusum

Late to the game because of life but I'm so happy that you guys managed to look beyond the surface level sexiness of the MV and song and actually catch the depeer meanings and undertones! The guitar in this song is probably one of my top favourites ever - which is saying a lot when it's about SKZ! Chan and Hyunjin kind of dis explain, that the song is meant to represent their obsession with their work and the push and pull relationship they have with taking a step away from it and balancing their lives, versus the obsession with their work drive. It's an incredible, nuanced song from the most unlikely of duos that probably should have broken every record there is for a stay, and your analysis of it was such a pleasure to watch!
