Daredevil comics are soo good and very consistent I'd say. I been reading some good Spider-Man and Deadpool ones. Frank Millers Daredevil I'd say start from there and work your way down there's a whole list order on reddit tho I'd take Frank millers with a grain of salt since he has DD killing in his version but other than that its what they used to base this show on so far anyway for S1,

Daredevil is probably the most consistently well written character for at least marvel since I'd say the 80s every run has been unique and very engaging. Some comics that I would recommend is the Man Without Fear series which is his comic origin basically and Daredevil: Born Again which is largely considered the best marvel comic ever. Both are written by Frank Miller and he has a full comic run with the character which is spectacular.

I wouldn't say admiration. I mean Stick called him a pussy cause he wouldn't kill. But Stick broke his own rule. He started to truly care about Matt. So he left him. Maybe there's a kind of admiration and that's part of the reason he cares, is how pure he is, but he's still trying to get him to cross the line cause he was serious about this "war".
