The cool thing thing about this film is that they went back to the original 1953 novel by Ian Fleming and told that story although with a lot of added elements, but the core of the story is still the heart of the tale.

I highly suggest watching LAYER CAKE (2004) with Daniel Craig in the lead. That movie got him the bond role. It's a great british gangster movie in the style of "Snatch". Craig has a few Bond moments in it...and looks pretty sharp.

This also works as an Origin Story for the Original Bond Films. The Events in this Film are a Part of the Original James Bond’s History, brought to life on screen by Sean Connery through Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan. The Producers, Albert Broccoli & Harry Saltzman, and Writer, Richard Maibaum, knew this Story and it Influenced the Creation of the James Bond Character.

So the interesting thing about this movie is it is about him BECOMING James Bond we see him Change throughout the movie, he earns the Aston Martin, he gets the classic tuxedo and at the end he becomes that kinda cold seemingly unfeeling person that classic James Bond is when he shows up in his suit and says the famous, the name is bond James Bond, and then we finally hear the classic James Bond theme song for the first time. Also FYI the next one is not that great, it was really hurt by the fact that a Hollywood writers strike was going on so they had to kinda make up the script and do there best as they went along.
